    thumbnail view for folder and list view for file?

    I want to make audio_browser to display album in thumbnail view (pic #1) and songs in list view (pic 2). Currently I am following the skin switching method discussed in the other thread, and it seems to work to certain point. The trick is use a BROWSE command button to navigate from album level to song level. On button load it will switched to a different skin which will be in list view setting. However, I would much rather navigate from album to song by double clicking on album instead of pressing the button since I think it is more natural. Eitherway, even the current skin switching method have a bug...

    -Step 1 [Skin 1]

    I made skin1 to display the album level dir (d:\music) by default. It is set to display in thumbnail view. I then mapped a browse button so on load it will switched to skin2 which is list view. "browse||load;skin2.skin"

    -Step 2 [browse and load skin 2]

    Here it works fine, the song are displayed in list view. In order to go back to the album level, I create an "Back||load;skin1.skin" to go back.

    -Step 3 [back to skin1]

    In theory it should go back to album level, and then switched to skin1 and displayed inthumbnail view. Instead, it switched to skin1 but failed to go back to previous level regardless that skin1 is set to display d:\music. I tried using other command such as "list" or "exit" to go back, but all gives the same result. I believe there's a bug...

    I've even tried using skin 3 (tn view) and skin 4 (list view), it works until skin 4 loop back to skin 1; then it behave the same and will stay in the same dir.

    I replied to your other thread on the label for the folder name..

    regarding switching between screens, you can do it by using the ONDIRCLICK and ONFILECLICK commands and setting them up on ExecTBL.INI with the different commands they're supposed to execute FOR EACH different screen that you're using them in.... this should allow you to go from anywhere to anywhere switching to whichever skin or view mode you desire...

    "ONDIRCLICK","BROWSE||LOAD;AB2.SKIN",audio_browser .skin
    "ONDIRCLICK","BROWSE||LOAD;AB3.SKIN",AB2.SKIN

    etc..

    Thanks guino for the suggestion, however it is still the same.

    1. audio_browser.skin (thumbnail view)

    "ONDIRCLICK","BROWSE||LOAD;audio_browser2.skin",au dio_browser.skin

    Result: sinlge click on any dir will browse into the dir and load audio_browser2.skin (list view). This works ok, but it defeats my request in another post about displaying folder name in label. Is there an "ONDIRDOUBLECLICK" command? I want single click to just highlight the folder and display foldername on top label, then double click to acutally browse into it.

    2. audio_browser2.skin (list view)

    "BACK","BACK||LOAD;audio_browser.skin",audio_brows er2.skin

    result: Click on the "Back" button will switch to audio_browser.skin which is in thumbnail view, but it failed to acutally go back to previous directory. This is he same behavior as before.

    I even tried this so when I click on the /.. up level dir it will hopefully go back up one dir and load audio_browser.skin. But it react the same as above method.

    "ONDIRCLICK","BROWSE||LOAD;audio_browser.skin",aud io_browser2.skin

    That's why we are the early adaptors

    Thanks again for looking into this, I really want this and I think it will be great feature for RR.

    Problem fixed. The solution is to switched the order of execution.

    Instead of executing the "Back" command and then "Load;skin.skin". I just switch to load the skin first and then execute the BACK command.

    Guino, it would be nice to have a onDirdoubleclick or onfiledoubleclick event.

    double clicking on a folder executes "BROWSE" by definition... you can reprogram this function like this:

    "BROWSE","<NEWCOMMAND>",audio_browser2.skin
    "GOINTOFOLDER","BROWSE"

    Then if you wish to do the normal "BROWSE" using a button, you should change it to "GOINTOFOLDER" as above, so it doesn't execute your "NEWCOMMAND" ...

    Similarly "SELECT" is executed when double clicking on a file, and can be remapped to do something else like above...
