    I want option 3

    I agree with 1, as the flicker is horribly annoying! Of course with option 2, you could always skin the area behind the application window on your desktop! (JUST KIDDING!)

    BUT given the choice between flicker, and being able to use third party apps, I will have to go with option #2.

    LS, when I say 3rd party apps, this also means any AutoIt scripts. I know you have a few scripts you have worked on to also control IG, they simply do not work with this beta. I have tried EVERYTHING on this end.

    Yes, it is true, that IGMon does not work well with IG3. 90% of the buttons and menu shortcuts no longer work since iNav/iG removed the keyboard shortcuts to navigate the menu's.

    HOWEVER the 3 features that I used it for in the first place, still work. It will pause audio when IG speaks and resume when done. It will pull the IGskin to the front when a turn is approaching, and return you to the previous screen when the turn is completed. And lastly, it allows buttons to be overlayed on the IG screen. In my case I only use one single button, which is invisable. That button is so I can go completely, and 100% full screen with iGuidance and just tap that button to return to the standard skin.

    LS have you tried writing an AutoIt script for a button to zoom in/out of iGuidance? I have written the script, but am having SOME ISSUES right now, that I am working on resolving.

    Oh, and yes, I still think no matter what choice is made, that it needs to be defined in the RR.ini to enable or disable it. Enabled by default for new installs, but can be disabled if someone wants to run a 3rd party app with iG.

    maybe the released versions of my scripts dont work with this beta, but i made some small changes and all of them still work for me right now.
    The changes arent major and only in 2 scripts files did i need to change anything.
    So i dont think 3rd party apps will have any serious issues, if my scripts can still be made to work, im sure anyone elses code can be modified or updated to work.
    If you want to make zoom buttons in autoit its pretty easy. Take a look at the igcontrol.au3 script, the zoom buttons on there still work.
    If you want 2 seperate buttons, also take a look at the exitfs.au3 script for reference on creating buttons and substute the code for zooming in and out instead of what it presently does.

    I can also just send you updated versions of the scripts too, PM me if you want them.

    I just clean up something here.
    Per suggestion from LS, I make it optional to have iG run native (as a child windows of RR) or as embeded app like before.

    What Modified?
    - Removed enhancement to embedded code I put in on 8/23 released. I found that some app, it doesn't work as expected when the app became RR's child window.
    - Make it optional to run iG in native mode by adding iGnative=true/false in RR.ini. Default is iG run native (iGnative=true). If you want normal embedded, set iGnative=false.
    - Also, a tillte enhancement to MilkDrop visualization.

    3rd party iG app:
    I have make iG window handler available as a label (IGHWND). You can get that handler and check if iG is active/visible (RR is in GPS screen) via windows API call IsWindowVisible(iGhwnd). I hope that b8bboi can use that info and make iGmon to work with this mod. I really like to use iGmon but I hate to see the desktop when switch or flicker screen.

    I'll send the file to Playerbeat, LS and JohnWPB. Please host the file so other can download.

    Hey that was MY idea!

    LS: I am not using your scripts at the moment. I have been using AUtoIt to create all of my scripts from scratch here. What line did you change in your code to senf the commands to IG now that it is a child window? When iG is embeded in the beta, the entire window's label is "iGuidance", even the RR screen around the app, sO I can't figgure out how to get past that to send the command to iGuidance itself.

    For people using IG, does each time that IG want to speak do you have a beep/ding at start each time ?

    IG 2.x ?
    IG 3.0 ?

    Does anyone know why iGuidance does not start at all when I hit the gps button in RR? It did at one point, but does not anymore
