How to make touchscreen friendly interface for fma:

i wish i new the answer to that question also my friends.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way unless you know how to program. I love FMA and use it on every computer i own.

The plus side is, with sony phones you get menus on the phone that run scripts on the pc, so to be honest,, you reallly dont need to "look" at the fma interface for most things, but it would be nice.

Would a "skinned" interface work like phonecontrol? or is it mostly management?

edit: prolly could suggest a skinnable intrface or at least "sub-section" for in-car use... however I think phoco, being directed at in-car use, will still be better at keeping up with headset connections and stuff....

well the interface isnt skinable at all, the app isnt geared for just management either although that is a big feature. On the PC side it lets you connect to your phone and view all properties of the phone, calls, missed calls, sms, send sms, contact management, sync with outlook, the list goes on.
On the phone side, you get a new menu on the phone that lets you run any vbs script you can think of. You can control your whole PC under this menu and there arent any limits to what you can do. It also supports headsets, pauseing winamp on incomeing call etc. In a nut shell, it does everything phoco does, plus a ton more. Its open source and gets updated all the time.
Only thing is it dosent have a skinable UI

So all that is needed is to nag them into adding a skinning option.... All we have to do is bug em now as they are collecting feature ideas for version 3.0.... sounds like a plan! I'm going over to their site right now!

Or better, does it have any TCP support or SDK support in terms fo querying the program?

I think this would be more useful that a touchscreen version... touchscreen=embed, sdk=integrate.....

If it doesnt support communication with other apps, maybe someone with programming skill can create a "float server" that the frontends can communicate with, based on the SDK they have...

yeah, ive been begging them to do something about it for a while. Ive added comments on the 3.0 feature request forum a while ago, if you see my thread, reply to it and say what you want too.
An SDK would be the most ideal method as then it can intergate into frontends better

after you posted this, i never had thought to see if they had an SDK on there site, and low and behold they DO. So i guess that is all that would be needed for someone to create a float sever as you mention. That would be great.
