I'm in the process of getting the screen all put together, after I finish I'll be sure to try this out.
Here is how to get the Uboard osk working for you.
Download and install Uboard:
Go here Release: Proximo's CF style skins and download the CFX Tools. The Uboard program is in there. Put the CFX Tools Folder in your Road Runner folder.
Make current OSK button open Uboard:
Open the skin file and change:
XXX,XXX,XXX,XXX,XXX,"APPOSK"
To:
XXX,XXX,XXX,XXX,XXX,"ACTIVATE;Microsoft Streets & Trips||RUN;C:\UBoard\UBoard.exe"

First of all, thankyou. I got S&T'06 working just fine, yay!
But I cannot get Firefox to work. I am adapting the web skin to say this:
"ACTIVATE;Mozilla Firefox||RUN;C:\UBo ard\UBoard.exe",""
yet it doesn't work.
I figured if explorer is IE, then that should be firefox... I am new to this but learning!
Oh yes, and 1 strange thing. After using Uboard with S&T fine, and installing SP2, it then said, "not a valid Win32 app". So I redownloaded the file, and reinstalled the .NET framework and it works now, but is the installation of SP2 related to the death of UBoard, or coinsidental. If it just happened to be at that time, then will it happen again? Has anyone had experiences similar to this?
It migh have had something to do with SP2, but if it is working now I wouldn't about it.
I haven't run in to any problems using the built in osk for the web browser. In fact i just typed this using the rr osk.
Well we may finally get a better S&T in 2007, why? because MS is now developing for their ultra-mobile ( http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/umpc/hardware.mspx )
These are touch screen PCs, not tablets, so MS has a stake in making it actually work. Anyway, on the UMPC software page I saw this
If they have taken the time to make it work in 2007 with their device and don't lock us out of using those controls, it could be the best setup yet.
Or I have my hopes up just to be smashed on the rocks of poor execution.
Chris
Although I aint planning on using it, I wanna say: Awesome skin!
I'm using S&T 2006 on my x41 tablet (link in signature) right now and it's OK... I honestly prefer using navigation with keyboard input rather than via tablet... it's just more accurate, quicker to do (for example, to type in an addresS), etc.... I think i will have this same feeling with the UMPCs...

Interesting, but I'm sure they will have a special version for this ultra-mobile and a version for laptops. I hope it gets better 04->06 was a pretty good jump. I'm interested on how Guino can implement Map Point 06 in to RR.Originally Posted by HyperSprite
