    Well, I just lowered winamp's volume under the settings button to about 15%-20%, and then the voice on S&T is loud enough to play over music. Usually I listen to music in the 5-15 volume range, but with that it is 80-95 range.

    No auto mute yet.

    Cool, I tried that and it worked. However, when I shutdown and restart my computer it goes back to max vol. Is that a default setting in RR?

    By the way the S&T skins are excellent. I tried the turn by turn yesterday and had no probs.

    so I've got a question that might be really simple to answer... I just split my port so I could add my speed (gpsspd) to any screen in roadrunner (coming from ms streets and trips) now my question is what if i want to get the information for next turn on any screen? what command might that be?

    Installation Instructions;

    Streets & Trips 2006 should be fully installed and functional prior to installing the skin.

    Using the RRConfig Utility, enter the following information in the GPS Pane;

    GPS Mode = External

    GPS Path = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Streets & Trips\Streets.exe (or your install directory if custom install)

    GPS Window Name = - Microsoft Streets & Trips

    Copy all files beginning with the name “GPS_ST2006… to your Bushed Metal skin directory.

    Rename your External_GPS.skin file to External_GPS.orig

    Copy the file named GPS_ST2006.skin to External_GPS.skin

    Load RoadRunner, reset your skin and test the GPS functions.

    All functions are documented in the “tool tip” section of the respective .skin file.

    OK, Go gentle, I'm just a beginner at this skinning stuff.
    I created a skin based on the GPS_ST2006 skin for Streets and Trips.
    I am having trouble with two buttons (Buttons 12 and 18 below). I copied these directly from your skin, changing only the "Switchbutton" number (even though I dont know what it means).
    I hoped it would work exactly as it does in your skin.
    But button 12 - Text/Turns does not cycle through the four views like yours, I get the 1st one, but dont get the "Drawing Guidance" screen, then back to the full map.

    Button 18 - Day/Night displays the night view but doesnt go back to day.

    So what am I missing?

    Ignore buttons 31 and 35, I'm still trying to decide if I want them.

    Also do you now the command to display the Terain view?

    Switch button 12 and 18 are not working because they are not #12 or 18 in line.. They are #6 and #9 no matter what you're calling them. It is alway a good idea to number them 1 to n. In this case you would always know in what order they are for use with the switch button command.

    Will this work with Delorme Street Atlas

    Will the method used here work with the Delorme Street Atlas application?
    If so how do you find the appropriate string for the various commands? (Maybe I can work this out if I understand the sendkey syntax)

    Also somewhere there must be a tutorial to the sendkey commands

    such as what does the % mean (looks like that one is ALT)
    what does ^ mean (change menu?)

    and how do you find the approprite keystroke for something like "page down"?

    Can someone point me at the tutorial

    Thanks...Paul

    The ^ = CTRL and % = ALT

    One way I found a lot of the sendkeys for Streets was looking at Keyboard Shortcuts in the Streets Help. Another way is through the menus. For example if you look at "View" on the menu it has an underlined letter V. If you press ALT V the view menu will pop down, follow the underlined letters to the command you want to run. Say Veiw, Maps, Larger would be %VMG (notice the G in Larger was the letter underlined in this example).

    As for Autoroute, I believe everything is the same but the name of the Streets.exe name, Try changing the exe name in your skit to match the exe name in the program files\autoroute and it should work. Also you will need to change the window names in the skin as well.

    I hope to post a more advanced streets skin for 2007 within the next week. I have pretty much eliminated any need to use any of the standard menus. Someone will need to re-graphic it to match the brush metal skins as I have my own skin I design to.

    Chris
