Yes, I'm pretty sure it is. I even think the .exe for Autoroute is the same.Originally Posted by stuseed

As for staying on route. 2006 does by default snap to the nearest road. Only when it finds you off by so many feet does it then show you off the road (and tell you "Off Route" if you're being given directions.) It does this to me every once and a while, but usually only when I'm on rural roads.

Also thanks for the s&t2006 skin. I loaded it last night and I'm very happy with it!
Hello everyone.
I have a simple question regarding S & T 2006. I am using it with RR and the Skin wich was presented here. Everything works fine BUT when I am pressing a GPS key in RR it always openning Streets and Trips from the beginnig, I mean not from that point where I closed it. Once I setted up everything as I like (City, resolution of the map, e.t.c) and after that did File ---> Save ---> Save a file. And now I even have a file let's say Montreal.est, but how to ask RR to start this file instead of starting Streets.exe ? I tried to add in RR.cfg after C:\Program Files\..............\Streets.exe montreal.est but it did not work for meMay some one please tell me how and where to write a settings which will ask RR to open a Streets and Trips in that map where I saved it.
Also another question - how to avoid the issue with Would you like to save a changes which you made in ........est file before Exit from Streets and Trips ?
When I am trying to shutdown or hibernate my Carputer, Streets and Treeps always asks me about Save the changes or not.
And the last small question: Does anyone expirienced the problem with a blinking screen in Streets and Trips when changing Track or Volume thru I-Bus interface from your Steering Wheel ?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Vlad
This will disable the save feature for that session. Got this from the Streets and trips help, but its not much use since once the file is reopened it reenables the autosave:
From Help file:
"To disable AutoSave while making changes to a map file
On the Tools menu, select Options.
Check the Show AutoSave message on Save check box, and then click OK.
Make modifications to your map, and then on the File menu, click Save.
In the AutoSave message, click Disable the AutoSave as Web feature while this map is open, and then click OK.
The AutoSave feature is disabled for the current change and any other changes saved to the map until the map file is closed. The next time the map file is opened, the AutoSave feature is again enabled and you will be prompted about whether to save the changes to your Web pages."
To save your default location:
Instead of saving it as a file, save it as a template (Save As Type:.stt) and browse to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Streets & Trips\Templates\New North American Map.stt
Choose to replace and that will save that config as your default open location.
That happened to me while I was testing the skin. The problem is with the “Window Name” you use in the RRConfig GPS setup. It should match what I have in the instructions or every time you press a GPS button it doesn’t know that it is already loaded. If you change the name to anything else you also have to change it in the .skin files also. Let me know if it doesn’t work.Originally Posted by vinzer
For the default map, this is what I have used;
In your Streets & Trips program directory there is a sub directory named “Templates”. In that directory is a file named “New North American Map.sst. Load that map, make any changes you want to the setup, zoom, etc. and resave it under the same name in the same location. It should default to that map from then on (when you change the drop down to .sst file type it may change your directory to the MS Office Template directory, you will need to navigate back to the Streets & Trips Template directory.)
I don't have I-bus so I can't help you there.
Thank you for your help ! Yes it is works for me (Template save) - now it looks the way I want![]()
If one day S&T 2007 or 2008will have an option when you opening a template automaticly turn on GPS sensor ---> it wil be great because now every time I need to start GPS manualy after S&T opened.
