alright with the softec skin it's really easy;

Ok, you renamed the EXTERNAL_GPS.skin to EXTERNAL_GPS.orig, corrrect? So you take the skin you just downloaded and and extract the files to your RR skin directory, usually c:\Program Files\Roadrunner\Skins\BMV2.....

Ok, so navigate your way to this folder and find the file labled gps_2006.skin that you just extracted there now change them name to EXTERNAL_GPS.skin. You're half way there .

Now, launch the RRconfig tool and set the GPS Mode to external. Then fill in the GPS path field with th location of the streets & trips exe, usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Streets & Trips\Streets.exe

Last step is to enter this"- Microsoft Streets & Trips" in the GPS window name field. That's it.

If you still want to try Mattkins99 skin please do, both are great skins. Good luck

I got the Uboard working!!! That was a great find dasha!

Finnegan I swear i've done everything right as well when using the s&t skin (the first one posted) yet from the menu page it still won't launch the gps. I have found if I go to the music page though and then click on the globe from there it works perfectly. Maybe someone could explain the solution to me and maybe finnegan you can see if you're having the same problems.

which version of RR r u running?

i tried doin the smae thing and i think i ran into the same problem. the thing was i tried to do both , but you could only do one. once i did only one the second one. it worked beautifully

Got an OSK working for both IE and S&T. Turned out to pretty easy. Just use the Uboard transparent OSK. configure it to align on the bottom (hit CAPS then CFG). This OSK alignment will allow you to get to the address tool bar or menu in IE and S&T. But that wont be all that necessary if you invoke the OSK this way:

It works. And the nice thing about Uboard is that it will go away if activated again from the skin button. You can therefore toggle back and forth easily.

Hello all. I like this skin and from what I can tell, this fixes the OSK issue. My question is how?
Is UBoard another piece of software that replaces the OSK built in?
Do I add those lines of code to the skin files or replace something?

Yes, you'll add those lines to the skin files. Just look for the lines that call out the OSK and replace the portion following position reference (what I labeled XXX,XXX,XXX,XXX,XXX). There's an article or two on skin basics. Do a search and you'll find them.
