    Hi,

ok, maybe i don´t understand how GPSSPD is working, sorry for that. I wish that GPSSPD starts automatically with RR without starting MM or any button. It would be nice if there is a "controllamp" which show if GPS/GPSSPD is activated or not.

Please don´t hit me, my english is terrible and sometimes it´s difficult to understand and write things.

Looks like you can put it anywhere but you would have to tighten up the buttons maybe

Well I took it out today and it worked well as long as the Speedo was showing but when I switch to music or some other skin it would not update. When I pulled up windows volume controls it would change it to the speed I was going before I switched the skin.

I am using the "SSV.swf" in the skin, is there something I am doing wrong

Nope, not doing anything wrong. The SSV and GPSSD reference has to be added to every .skin file of your skin that you may have displayed for any reasonable time. I put my SSV at -20, -20, 0,0 so its hidden and have GPSSPD displayed on most screens.

    Thanks Gizmoq

I added some to my skins but I all ready had two and still will not update after I exit the first screen with SSV.swf in it. I have one in my main menu and one in a setup menu (see pics above) and when I start the one in the main menu and go to the one in the setup menu the other one stops and holds the vol at that speed. If I start the second one it will fight the first one and turn the vol up and down. If I switch back to the first one the speed on the gauge is in the same place before I switched for a few seconds.

Maybe we need a master and a slave SSV.swf

Are you using the same one as me? On these pages

    Any other clues?

Yea, I'm having nearly the same problem. FreeDrive does not support GPSSPD. So I've been testing with MM. I also usually use line out to my headunit, but havent been able to figure out how to set up SSV for it so I've been testing with wave out and like you said, Chuck, it seems to be fighting with itself.

Another thing I noticed is volume control through RR is no longer possible. If I change it up or down SSV changes it back to its setting. I originally didnt think this would be a problem (see my first post) but it is. And I could envision those without a head unit not being happy at all.

I guess what I'm saying is using SETVOL is not quite the best method.

just one thing to say: That cool-looking speedo and volume control really, really need to be made into a standalone app. Why limit the project to RR users? Centrafuse has leaped to the front with 1.5 and I think many users are switching from frodo/RR to CF. End the frontend battle by just making it stand-alone!

LOL, are you kidding. Not to take anything away from CF, i think its a really nice app, but with RR, its so open and customizeable, how can you even say that. As most coders here will tell you, and if not i know they are thinking it, I am super picky. CF as it is right now, cant stand up to strict customization. Why do you think there really arent a lot of unique skins for CF? They all seem to just be color variations of the default. Plus, the frequency of releases of RR is by far faster than any frontend here, and they arent mostly bug fixes. Hell i have a hard time just keeping my skin up to date with all the new features, Soon as i get ready to release it, bam, heres another RR version with new features that i want to support. With CF you have to wait for months apon months for a release, and still not have a full package.

but i do agree with you, a stand alone utility would be the best route, not sure why none of the hard core coders havent made one yet, but i applaude what DiNasty has done so far. Better to have something (that works) than nothing at all.

your post only furthers the opinion that this should really be a standalone app! who wants to keep up with frontend changes and updates? I'll stick with the same frontend for months in my car if it damn well works! I've never played with road runner simply because it just keeps changing so much, I don't have the time in my day to sit around updating my front end....

    STANDALONE!!!

it only changes if you want it to, you dont have to download the updates if you dont want them. And even if you did, you'll still need updated skins, but i would much rather have an app that gets updated on a regular then have to sit for months with whatever issue you may have. Not ever really looking into RR because it changes too much is the most lame excuse ive ever heard. Hey i dont like that app, it gets updated to much? HU? Its not like you install the software and it magicly starts morphing into something else without you purposely applying the updates. And ive used CF, so dont say its bug free and the reason the updates are slow cuz there isnt anything to fix. You know some people still run Windows98, because they want to, and they dont switch to irix because MS came out with W2k,XP,Vista etc

But like i said in the previous post, standalone would be the best route, hey ill even say it again, standalone would be the best route. No one is argueing about that. But the likely hood of that happening anytime soon, is low. Ive been waiting for this feature to show up, and im just glad its here and works and in the frontend I use, with people who like updates like me
