Help with Winamp AVS slowness ???

I have SP13000 w/ 512mb of rams. Running 10.31 RR, winamp v5.111. It is embbed into a skin with viz window size of 800x390

I got MilkDrop setup and it embbed well without any boarders, and it plays very smooth with no lag whatsoever.

However, AVS on the other hand is slow and choppy when comparing to Milkdrop. "pixel doubling" is already checked, lowering frame rate doesn't help much since it will look slow just like before thus I dont want it.

What's interesting is that from my searching here, It seems that AVS should acutally run faster then MilkDrop? I am very confused?

it depends on what kind of 3D hardware you have... milkdrop uses 3D acceleration while AVS doesnt (or so I think) ... but if pixel doubling is on and it is still slow, then you should try to reduce the window size or resolution you're using it with...

it's just the integrated video from SP13000, suppose it's a bit bettern the MII series.

Resulotion of the windows is only 800x390, at pixel doubling it is only like 400x190.

holy crap! that's way too much for your machine -- specially with BUILT IN graphics... hell, I don't think I'd want to run that on my ATI Radeon 9500 ...

how do I run it in lower res, note that I am not running in fullscreen mode but rather just windowd. How do I run it in lower res in windowed mode? My desktop is 800x480, the embedded visu in the skin is again at 800x390.

Here's a screen shot of my visu skin running AVS (can't get rid of the border),

mmm? I didn't read the FAQs, but I jsut used the overlay feature of the vis. You can set the overlay to a certain color, and I set that color in the middle of my skin, so when the vis turn on, it projects the overlay onto my skin and looks pretty nice. It also scales the smaller vis to full screen, and being an overlay it moves very fast. - its smooth on my P3 600MHz w/ integrated video.

That's a pretty sweet AVS preset. Where did you get it?
