I too would(and have) like to be able to load certain screens at startup, what I have done in the past is to just call them in the start command and just have to watch it flip though the few screens at startup, not a huge deal for me as i'm lucky if I have to reboot every 1.5 weeks..

Or another thought on this would be to just have it startup up with the main, or whatever screen you want to start on to keep the fast starts, then, after a short time of being idle load whatever screens that you would like Pre-loaded in the backround for faster access....

I even tried to make an Autoit script to start RR and then hide it until it was done going through all the screens, just to make it look a little more professional, as the software intended it to look like...

Just an idea of how it might be done if added...

thats a good idea, i havent seen of the previously discussed threads on this, so i dont know what the outcome was, but if there was an option to start RR as hidden for X seconds this would work and still look normal.

ya, it would be nice but me being picky, would rather have it load up first(just to get the music going or whatever...) then after a short time load the other screens in the backround...

Now thinking about this, now that we have an idle command, this wouldn't be too hard to use. All we would need is a place(ini-file?) and/or command to say to load the specified screens into memory using the idle command in the start command section...that would work for me...

Any comments Guino...??

I think a lot of users would like to have this option...its half done already!!!

I'd rather not have the screens load first and slow the initial bot (just load the main screen and the music screen, and obviously if you have a trigger to jump to a specific screen then that one too).

Here's what I'd like (though specific to me, so I know it won't happen): the option to load serial devices later. The longest part of the RR start is loading my Serial XM Reciever. It loads about 10-15 seconds quicker (varies each boot) with the XM stuf unplugged. It'd be nice if RR loaded up w/o that (main screen/music screen first), then once music was going loaded serial devices in the background... I know, I know, niche request.

holy crap this thread is old.. just ad PRELOAD=SCREEN in your rr.ini (PRELOAD=AUDIO_PLAYER.skin)

(i was using LOAD;someskin.skin||LOAD;menu.skin in rrconfig's startup string to achive this effect but i didn t know how good that was and if it was a better way available)
