I agree. This can be done in the getindicator functionality.

Well, i was trying to use as little cpu cycles as possible, and it seems to me that checking the input every time GetIndicator runs would take quite a bit more time than letting the event function of the phidgets trigger a small piece of code only when something does change, and then only checking a true/false expression in getindicator would be less cpu intensive. This might seem a bit overkill, but i would hate to add to the sluggishness of the application in the long run (not that it is slow as such right now :-)

foh, i think i was a little hasty in saying that it worked with my pg amps :-( seems i had it hooked up wrong somehow, after researching i must have been making a connection between ground and the inputs, reading the manual of the phidgets states :
    8 Digital Inputs
Switch triggered - The digital inputs require only closing the inputs to the ground terminal via a switch, button, etc. No voltage should be used. The refresh rate is 125Hz for the Digital Input.

doooh, now i have to figure out a little transistor on each output of my amp or a little relay or something....

Seems that the 0/16/16 works the way i was expecting the 8/8/8 to do, by applying a voltage to the input between 4 and 30vdc. i will have to measure the pg output before purchasing this one i think.
