weird RR problem

ok, this is really weird.

On my laptop everything is fine, zero problems.

In my car, also note: the RR install and everything copied and pasted from my laptop, they both have the same dir and configs, everything is setup to be the same from the very start.

When in my car, when i first load RR, then go to any other screen, then try to go back to any screen from any screen, I no longer have mouse input. Whenever i click the mouse i just hear the windows "dunt" sound (best way i can explain the sound). The mouse still works and im able to click on other stuff (my external app manager ObjectDockplus) but none of the RR menus highlight when i mouseover them. I can still navigate RR with a keyboard fine though. I eventually have to exit RR from the keyboard as it wont take mouse input after this.

Has this ever happened to anyone and have any idea what could cause this.
Also note, this seems to only happen with MY skin, but oddly enough it happens with any version of my skin, not just the latest non released version, but all versions of the skin except for the very first release. I just spent the last 2 hours in my car trying to figure this out, even checking the commands in skineditor and they all look good, hell the exit command hasnt changed since 2 versions ago.

anyway any ideas are appreciated, maybe ill go back out in the cold and try to figure it out again tonite if i can come up with something else to disable or turn off etc.

i think its the fact that you copied all the files from a different system,in yor install folder you'll find a notepad document called HW,this is the system config file and is different for each pc,i think thats your problem mate. i hope this helps.

while your here did you have any luck finding the PSD's for the LS3.0 clock?

Copying RR from a different system shouldn't be your problem. I have recently formatted my laptop and I recovered just the RoadRunner directory from a previous backup. The folder now resides on my desktop and also contains zots.day skin and SkinBedder with AutoIt v3.

As far as what Griff saw about the HW.txt, I believe that is nothing more than a file generated when you first run RR. Delete or rename it and run RR to generate a new file.

It's interesting that it won't work with your skins. Actually that's kinda ironic if you ask me. Maybe it's something in the general.ini of your skins...

This doesn't happen on the pc in the house, right?

Did you check spacing or case on app paths in the car?

Yeah, I'm getting the same problem when I load up the liquid skin also, it works for about 30 seconds then after that, I am unable to click any of the buttons on the skin, the mouse moves around and when I click the Windows Key on my keyboard it works, and then I can tap on the screen and that works, so its not windows or the touch screen drivers and it only happends on this skin. Does any one know how to fix this, this skin looks awsome, Im dissapointed that I can't get it to work.

its not the spaceing or app paths, remember the two computers were setup like this a very long time ago, way before i even started using RR. Plus, whats even more odd, bobs987 just started having this problem also, but the version of the skin he and everyone else has, has been out for a while now, with no problems like this.

i think im gonna try to go back a version of RR in the car and see if that fixes it, should have been the first thing i tried.

I have had this problem with the new version of RR the mouse not doing any thing and the error ding.

Before if you use the RUN command in a button (RUN:C:\test\test.exe) and the exe file was not found it would ignore it and go on. But with new RR it will stop RR from running on my machine with error like above.

i just figured this out myseld 2 min ago, LOL
it seems RR is more strict now on files being present in the run command, if the file is not there it dosent ignore it not being there anymore.

In my skin i have click sound support from the file playfile.exe, but in my car it seems to slow RR down a tad so i allways rename the file to playfileX.exe.
Had to find a backup version of RR , saw that the same skin worked fine, then i realised about the run command i have in the back buttons

tested on the lappy and dose the same thing here too.

have to make a decision on weather or not to keep the feature, it was there as an option for people who wanted it, but if they didnt want it, it would still work.
The changes to RR may have been needed so im not sure if quino can make RR ignore if the file isnt present or not.

i think ill just remove it, you can only hear the click sound when no music is playing anyway, which is almost never. Plus i can see the problems already with people not following directions and maybe only half the people will actually copy the file to the right dir, so in the end it may just be a huge pain in the ***.
