    problems compiling

    Hey guino

I am trying to get started doing some adjustments myself to the code of RR, mainly to see if i could do anything for the speed of the current releases, but i am having some problems compiling. Do i need anything else than what is in the sourcecode zip file, some components that are not in the file maybe ?

    Regards

You need Mappoint I think it is to allow you to fully compile

oh i forgot to mention that i am getting a mappoint error when loading the project, mappointcontrol.ocx could not be loaded, which is understandable since that file is not in the source dir. also frmMPT.log says :
"Line 34: Class MapPointCtl.MappointControl of control Map was not a loaded control class."

In references under the project, i am seeing a few things checked, but some of them are not working.
Microsoft Direct Speech Synthesis ? points to c:\windows\speech\xvoice.dll
i downloaded the speech api 5.1, but there is no xvoice.dll file in there.
Also, what should i install or do to get mappoint controls ? i would like to compile to a fully running version and not have to exclude any code.

just found the mappoint control ocx file and did a regsvr32, seems to fix that, also it would seem that the ms speech thing is a version 4 not a version 5.1 hence the wrong file names, i will get cracking on some coding :-)

You'll still need mappoint installed to propperly compile the code.. you can run it inside VB without it installed. You'll also need the SAPI 4 installed (< 900Kb).. and Mapmonkey as well.
