    can't get CTRLLEFT/CTRLRIGHT to respond.

    First off, let me say thanks to guino for building such a great app. When I first built my carputer, I was evaluating various frontends. Centrafuse had just come out, and RR wasn't around quite yet. I did try media car, however, and picked CF over it. Well, needless to say, i'm in this forum now, so it says quite a bit about the quality of Guino's work!

    Anyways, I've searched about this, but it seems i'm the only one w/ this problem. I can get all the other hotkeys working, but for some reason, I can't seem to get CTRLLEFT/CTRLRIGHT/CTRLUP/CTRLDOWN to respond. I've tried binding the hotkeys to a hundred different combinations, but the result is always the same.

    All that happens when I try executing them is the bottom most icon (vol down) is highlighted. I'm using the CF skin for Road Runner. The hotkeys work fine on my test machine (laptop) but in the car, i get nothing.

    Hopefully, someone can shed some light on the subject?

    are you actually pushing CTRL and LEFT? I know in the KeyTBL.ini file it says CTRLLEFT, but the actual key is just the arrow keys without any CTRL buttons.
    you should be able to just just push the arrow keys and use enter key to select

    post your KeyTBL.ini file

    I tried a bunch of different key combinations, including the default 37,38,39, but it's still giving me problems

    I even took out all the entries below the skin commands section cuz I thought they might be interfering with the hotkey operation, but no luck...

    My install is a fairly default windows XP installation with a few powertoy tweaks.

    What's weird is if I RDP into the carputer from my laptop, everything seems to respond as expected. I was just wondering if anyone had run into something like this before.

    This sounds like a SKIN issue.. RR will move the mouse down to the bottom left when pressing KEYS, and that is most likely highlighting the button using that area on that skin. An easy solution would be to resize your skin to 800x599 or 800x479 (in general.ini of the skin).. The other option is to make sure you have no buttons using that last bottom left pixel of the screen (by editing the skin).

    also note: i took a look at your key file and you have them set to
    4037=alt + left arrow
    4039=alt + right arrow

    to only use the arrow keys without any modifier keys they should be like this
    37,"CTRLLEFT"
    38,"CTRLUP"
    39,"CTRLRIGHT"
    40,"CTRLDOWN"
    13,"CTRLEXEC"
    but the file looks fine to me.
    Its probably the button at the bottom left pixel thing guino was talking about, i had that problem before also

    Is there a way to turn this off? If so can we have the option to turn it on or off through the RRConfig?

    It didn't used to do this prior to August. I prefer the mouse to stay where I put it.

    Yup, guino was absolutely right. It was the skin. The fix you recommended worked perfectly. Thanks again guino and LS. You guys rock!
