    Getting streaming radio from shoutcast

I am getting my clearwire wimax connection for my car on monday and was thinking that i might be able to get around my problem with not having radio by using the shoutcast list on winamp.com. Has anyone tried to parse and embed this into RR, i am not talking about embedded a browser window, but creating a real skin for it, maybe with a parsed edition of the list, so that winamp will be started with the channel info displayed in the skin and all ??

have you even tried the wimax thing to see if it's bandwidth and connection are reliable enough for that ? My bet is that it isn't.... in any case, having that play in RR should be as easy as saving a m3u with the station presets you'd like to listen to, load the m3u and play them as if they were songs.

anyway to get RR to show the Extended info in the m3u file instead of just the url to the streaming server ?

i'll try testing it tomorrow when i get the box for the wimax connection. i think latency would be the biggest hurdle, but well see.

I thought of adding that, but for most cases (songs), it doesn't help since RR loads it before winamp has a chance to save the extended info. But can be easily added -- as long as there's a use for it, I'd add it.

how about starting the stream from a button ? is that possible to somehow load the m3u file directly from a button ? i won't need more than a few different streams for local radio coverage so that would be fine if that was possible.

found it, seems i don't have a clue when it comes to skins :-) the loadlist command will do exactly that. I just save a m3u for each station and make button for each file with : "LOADLIST;C:\Program Files\Road Runner\MP3 Preset\xxx.m3u" as the command.

Tried - doesn't give me the extended data, i.e., song title and artist. What labels are you using in your playlist?
