Start XM without defaulting to XM screen?

Subject says it all. I was tinkering with the XM screen (could use mp3 as an example too), and noticed it will only come on when you are on that screen. If you go to any other screen it'll remain on, except other audio/video screens that will interfere (like MP3).

My question is, when I start RR, my skin goes to a home page. Can i tell RR to "turn on" XM & start playing without having to navigate to the XM screen?

In the startup options you could try using XM||MAIN.

For me it locks up RR but in theory this should accomplish what you're trying to do.

Right, that would 'in theory' work.. Except that XM has a problem initializing... when using XM in startup.

This is a hardware related issue and I'm looking into a way of getting round it.

Thanks guys! I had read through the documentation a few months ago & forgot about it. My bad.

Just for kicks I will try it as well. I have XMDirect. I'll let you know how it went. If it matters, I like chuckster's idea of being able to configure a "wait" feature.

Last time I had tested this, it used to work, but then I have no XM service this days...

I think mine does this without issues.. I have one XM PCR and one XMD1000.

If I am in GPS, but listening to XM.. turn the truck off. Come back.. re-start it.. it resumes from standby listening to XM but on the GPS screen.

I have the power supply setup to shut off after 2 hours.. I will see if it does it on start up if directed to do so.

I can't have XM playing when I go into hibernate. If I do, when I resume, the XM line (line in) is always unmuted, and just keeps playing (over mp3s, etc) and even if I exit RR it keeps playing.

It's like RR can mute and unmute XM when I close and open XM normally, but if I have XM open and hibernate then resume it doesn't know to remute XM.

I just make sure I never leave XM running when I shut off my car.
