    Shuffle entire collection.

    Hi,

I'm quite sure this question has been asked before, after a search I have not been able to find it, so I ask again , sorry

How do I shuffle the entire collection not a just a single album?

The RR configuration doesn' have an option to modify it...
Maybe I need to modify the skin or what?

    not sure i understand.

when you add everything to your playlist, and hit shuffle......its in shuffle mode....it shuffles a playlist, not an album. If you add all your albums, it will shuffle the entire playlist.

    I don't use playlists

I just browse the folders where i have the albums stored and select the one i want to play.

does it mean i must add the album to a playlist each time I get a new album ?

I belive hes talking about randomly picking a song out of your entire music collection, no playlist involved.

The iPod's do it, its a option in the main screen called 'shuffle songs'. When I had my iPod I loved that feature. It basically would just randomly pick songs out of the entire collectoin and play them.

Its really nice when you cant decide what to listen to, but want to get something playing.

ah, I basically keep all my music in one huge random directory. Reason being, there are many songs I like.....where I dont like the whole album.....so I dont like to have those songs on my system.

I'm pretty sure though, the way RR works is that it builds a playlist for you when you select an album...I guess there should be an option to randomize the whole "library". I believe since winamp is the backend, we're somewhat limited by it's capabilities.

Yup. This should work for everyone. I don't understand why the OP's having problems.

If you want a really randomized playlist, add a button that sends Ctrl+Shift+R to winamp and do a "reloadlist".

yeah, they seem to be under the impression that they arent using playlists......when in fact, they are just selecting a single folder for their playlist. They need to add everything....and make a giant playlist.

I'm not sure how to save or load a playlist though, or if this function exists. I'm still running a pretty old version....with an old skin.
