Did you add those file extensions into rr.config ?

The file says .avi, so i typed in the box of "file extensions"

    .avi, .mpeg

My file types still do not display, however. I can hear the audio from the movie though. I can play all my music videos just fine (.mpegs or mpg's), and some movies. I seem to be having trouble with mainly .avi files.

    You're missing a video codec.

Alright, I don't have much knowledge about codecs. If I find a codec package and install it will that solve my problem? If so, which codec package would be recommended? thx

To be sure which codec the avi file needs you can use Gspot, get it here: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

And don't go installing every Codec you see, there are conflct issues. FFDshow and Divx 5.1.1 Bundle should be the only two you will need for most normal video files. G spot is a great little tool as well, although I haven't had to break out my G-Spot tool since I installed the two afforementioned codec packs.
Its not the cards you're dealt, its how you play the hand!
