Get off the boat and get yourself back on the mainland.
does it move when you move, or does it stay exactly in the same place in the atlantic.?
Ok, I have searched for some time now and haven't run across an answer for my specific problem. I have a USB Rikaline 6010 GPS receiver that works great with mappoint alone. But everytime I try to use it with RoadRunner (latest version 1/15), I get thrown out in the middle of the Atlantic. Everything is configured correctly to my knowledge in the RRConfig. I'm using the Brushed Metal skin if it makes a difference, I've also tried a couple other skins. Does anyone know how to fix this?

it just stays in the same spot. if i close RR and open mappoint it works fine. if i use another gps program such as nmeaGE it works.Originally Posted by Enforcer
sounds like when it's embedding in RR mappoint can't see the GPS mouse. check to see if you have the GPS com port set up correctly in RR config.
all the settings in RRconfig seem to be correct. they are as follows:
gps mode: mappoint
mappoint map: north america
gps port: (the correct port for the gps mouse)
default country/city: united states, my city
these are the only settings i see that get things up and running.
i've been working with this for almost a month now. i've tried different versions of RR with no result. i've been pulling my hair out over this.
the closest thing i have found that is similar to my problem is in this thread. take a look at the 4th post down by chuckster. but it looks like this problem was resolved quite some time ago.
I'm having the same problem. I mainly use Streets and Trips, so it hasn't been that much of a problem, but I noticed it started two releases ago. All my settings are correct but it just doesn't accept the GPS Signal. I also run the SWF speedo file (instead of a spinning logo) and it too can't get data from the GPS.

Maybe this might be a clue
Navigation info from RR
posts 9 and 10 when they talk about
GPSPORT=X
and
MAPPOINTPORT=X
YA BE WARNED: if you want the GPS to work within RR, you should NOT setup the GPS port in mappoint -- it should only be setup in RR (otherwise the port will be opened and RR won't be able to use it)

i tried not setting the gps port up in mappoint and it still didn't work, then i added the "gpsport= " line in RR.ini with the correct port and it started working. it could have been a combination of the two, but either way, its working great now. thanks to everyone that pitched in on this problem.![]()
