    Slow song list load time

Hey all, just getting my first carputer together and been playing with Road Runner for a couple weeks now. Have tried several different front ends and kept coming back to RR. Have a question.....is there a way to make the "Song List" menu load quicker?

Currently using the latest RR w/ the CFX and BMV2 skins, and on both it takes ~ 20-25 seconds after pushing the "Music" button to bring up the song list. Right now I just have my all my mp3's in the list and use shuffle (~3300 songs), so should I just now keep all my songs in the list?

Did some searching but didn't see anything specifically for RR. Also didn't know if this was normal or if there's anything I have to do in winamp or RRconfig.

    Thanks,
    Nick

really long playlists take a looooonnng time to load..... try seperating into a few different playlists.... if you just select a few songs how long does it take?... if you really want them all loaded then you'll have to wait the 20-25 seconds I guess....

Thanks, that's kind of what I had thought.... It does go quicker when there are only a few, I just have seen many people on here talk about keeping their "long" song lists on shuffle and just didn't know if the delay was just something that you learn to live with or if there was a specific setting somewhere.

I'm young but I'm not that impatient.... so I can wait the 20 seconds. ; ) It still plays while it's loading so it's not a deal breaker.

Add the files you want to the current playlist and then save it. Its faster loading the single playlist file then loading all the songs. I just tried it with 3600 songs and it took a second or two to load.
