Yeah I can, CCCP is better IMO. I took used to be a k-lite whore, but then I started getting .MKV files and K-lite can't play them so I went to CCCP and never looked back. Oh and it's a simple install as well, but just make sure you remove your old codec pack, K-lite comes with an uninstall and that will work well enough.

Were you using K-lite vers, 2.54 Full?? It supports Matroska. Also, MPC has Matroska native support...

At the time it wasn't at 2.54, but I have used the newest versions while trying help a friend with some codec problems a couple weeks ago. I still like CCCP, but if you like K-lite and have no issues then by all means keep using it. As far as Matroska support, I found that many players would get out of sync, i.e. VLC, media player, etc. Only after installing CCCP would they run perfectly. Again if you have no issues you don't need a new codec pack.

I do like the codec checker K-lite comes with.

WEll to be fair, I've never even used CCCP, so I can't speak which is better, I just thought you might wan't to know its been supported in newer version. It would crazy not to, Matroska will likely be the format of the future.

reading this thread i didnt know what Matroska was so i googled it and on the home page for it it says "allowing the user to store a complete movie or CD in a single file."
In the back of my head for a while, ive been wanting all my albums to be like this. I really dont see any point in having seperate files for each track in an album. Now it says that MPC has native support for Matroska, has anyone created a single file album and is this supported in RoadRunner

I haven't used it that way LS, I haven't used it much at all. It's mostly hyped for its super error-recovery and its menu support.

Oh and Winamp 3 + will playback the container, but I believe RR would show it as a filename, meaning the name of the album, I don't THINK you would be able to show each track playing....I'm not sure though.
