I'm also interested in a solution to this as I've got a similar setup (RR, iguidance, xport), so let us know if anything works for you!
Pardon me if this has been answered before, but I've done a search and can't seem to come up with a clear answer. I have xport3 up and running very nicely.
The only way I've been able to get RR's GPS functions running successfully is by choosig the 'menu' option in RR config. Of course, this replaces iGuidance as the default GPS application, so instead, I've created an instance of iGuidance as an external application. When I run iGuidance as an external application however, it never runs quite the same as when 'embedded' by the config utility.
To illustrate, when I hit the modified 'GPS' button while an existing session if iGuidance is running, I'll end up getting multiple instances of iGuidance. Of course, iGuidance in 'native' RR mode embeds rather nicely and doesn't exhibit this problem. Is there something I'm missing in the skin setup?
I'd like to take advantage of the built-in GPS features of Road Runner (speed and compass) while still utilizing iGuidance for navigation. Xport3 has been great and getting each application to run indepently has been a breeze, but unfortunately, I haven't found a clean method of running both at the same time.
If anyone can help, I'd be eternally grateful.![]()

Wait.
You want the Compass and Speed to show up in Road Runner right (with or without iGuidance)?
Here is the deal and setup regardless you have iGuidance or not (embeded or not).
In roadrunner setup (rr.ini), you have to add 1 more element.
MappointPort = X (where X is and extra COM port that Xport3 created.) You don't have to have Mappoint installed. This is one confusing setup that not many of you get it. This setting will be deleted if you are using road runner Config to select ANY GPS option but Mappoint. What that mean is if your GPS option is RR config is Mappoint, the setting is there. If you select Destinator, External, or whatever, the setting is delete. So if your option is External, Open rr.ini in notepad and add it in.
For future compartibility, add GPSPort = X.
Anyhow, this setting only needed if you use an official RoadRunner Config.

Say I have rrconfig set to external gps (to embed iGuidance), will rrconfig automatically take out that mappointport=x line in the .ini every time it is run, or only if I mess w/ the GPS settings in rrconfig?

Skippy release a betta of Road Runner and RRConfig. This version of RRConfig has this parameter setting. The official release by Guino doesn't have the setting so you have to do it by hand.Originally Posted by tbird2340
