Newb question about Copilot and RR

    Sup ppl

I did some research and I have found out that my gps program doesn't work well with any front ends so I just run RR and Copilot at the same time and alt-tab between the two. My question is...is there anyway I can have RR mute the music or just lower the sound when gps announcements are played by Copilot?

    Thanks

copilot is one of the few awkward applications that (as far as I know) won't integrate well with anything.. that includes both embedding and volume control.. supposedly the best application for nav. but the worst for integration/mixed tasks.

CoPilot and Road Runner is a no go...

    Hey,

Thought I might add to the conversation, as I have both CoPliot (here after referred to as CP) installed with Road Runner, and I am trying to make them work together.

I think the short answer is that they don't...and alt-tab switching doesn't work very well, in my opinion. This is because to switch from CP to RR, you just need to hit alt-tab once, but to switch from RR to CP, you need to hit it twice for some reason. This makes it difficult to set up any sort of non-keyboard controller to switch between the two programs smoothly.

Any other questions, let me know, and I'll try to test them out for ya...

what about if instead of Alt-Tab you minimize RR using a button ? would that not display CP with a simple click ? I'd assume that the Alt-Tab would still work to show RR again.

Yep...a minimize button would probably work well...I was just curious as to what determines whether programs take one or two ALT+TAB keypresses to both bring up and switch to another program. Is this something that the developer decides and implements?

The reason I had hoped to use ALT+TAB to switch between RR and CP was because I could do it fairly simply with a Powermate through keypress emulation...however, now that I've looked around on the forums a bit, I see that there are other ways to accomplish the same goal.

Thanks for your reply and help....

Alt-Tab is a windows controlled function.. I don't think a software can "require" two Alt-Tabs or something like that.. most likely if you have to press Alt-Tab twice, is because you're alternating through another window of the same application (Copilot).

That makes perfect sense of course...maybe I should try doing a bit of thinking instead of so much typing next time.

Hi, i also use co pilot and have noticed it wont embedd into RR. We need some sort of simple overlay screen like how mediaengine or frodo does it, Co pilot worked fine with them rather than trying to embedd CP into the skin. I really like RR but that 1 prob sux
