Sorry for the dumb question.. How exactly do we get this implemented? I see quino included it in the latest release but do we have to change stuff in the skin file for it to work? We need to run the shoSFdata.exe?? Thanks for any help.

and you should run showsfdata so you know which variables map to which sensor.

    What am I missing?

I downloaded Speedfan and it runs fine standalone.
I copied the speedfan.exe into the RR directory.
Used showsfdata.exe to find the sensors.
Changed the skin to use the SFxn labels.

As long as I have speedfan running externally it works fine (displays in the RR skins). but if speedfan is not running it does not start automatically with RR.

Am I supposed to "load" it in RR?
How? is there a path in the rr.ini? somewhere else?

Also my fan speeds show as a percent rather than as RPM. I couldnt find a setting in Speedfan to change that. Is that just a function of the sensors on my PC or is it a setting I have missed?

    Thanks as always...Paul

As far as I know, RR doesn't auto-load speedfan. I just leave it in my startup group so that's not an issue. Don't know about the percents for fan speed. All of mine have been rpms.

Well I can certainly do that, but the instruction to put speedfan.exe in the RR directory doesnt make any sense.

When you edit your labels (which previously contained MBM codes like "MBM60" or something), you have to open the included ShowSFData.exe to find the number of each sensor. The third letter in an SF label code is "T", "V", or "F", for, obviously, temperature, voltage and fan. So the label code for a temperature might be "SFT0", for a voltage "SFV4", etc.

Honestly, I'd be shocked if this worked for anyone besides me. But it is working well both on my main machine and my carputer. I've wanted this for a while too.

(I also included example code if anyone wants to bother trying to figure out how to define the type properly.)

The RAR file appears to be corrupt. I would love to have this skin, can someone host a working version of it please?

Those instructions to put the .exe in your RR folder referred to a version of RR.exe with Speedfan that I compiled before Guino incorporated it into the release. You don't need to do that now.

This utility tells you the what your skin labels should be in RR to read Speedfan. So just replace the MBM codes with these. (You must setup SF to run on startup yourself.)

you should have more closely read the thread...guino said that it would be added, that was like 2 months ago....

Oh, also make sure your fans are actually on when you're trying to get the labels. The labels are hidden until they have some kind of value (other than 0).
