    missing "default" skin...

I just downloaded it, and it won't work without a skin..

I'd rather do not download just any crappy skin that is "good looking" til a kid, I prefer to download a very functional skin, with most features, and most intiutive icons..

whitch one should I get ?

Functionality is a very relative thing... No one but you knows what functions you want and/or need... Besides, they're free to download. Why not download a bunch of them, try them out, decide on one or two of them, and delete the rest?

That might be too much work for some people who'd rather get spoon fed.

you just made the best clueless comment I've recieved for a loong time

I am pretty far from "spoon-fed", I currently have everything home made, much using Girder, Samurize, LUA, and some of my own programs, I have controls that does not really reqiure touch-screen (home built USB knob/buttons) - this gives me (among other unique things) the option to run 4 different navigation programs (each with its own specialty, or better maps)

I am just investigating a little to see if RR can give me something new or better .. at all..
so this is not about how little I want to do to test it, but about convincing me to maybe give it a try, and make me do plugins for it, rather than keep all my good stuff inside my own system.

from what I remember, the download does include a skin, it's just named wrong compared to whats listed default in rrconfig..... check the skin folder to see if theres a skin then tell rrconfig what it is...

there is no "skin" folder , only
    Cinergy
    Dlink
    Launch
    Mappointers
    SRArt
    XMArt

tried to point it to the SR and XM art folders (day/night) but all I get is "does not contain a valid skin"

Yeah you'll need to create a Skins folder and drop one of your downloaded skins into it.

Inside the roadrunner folder, there should be a folder named "Skins". The default skin that the RR config program is lookig for is called "Zots_Day" or something like that. In the skins folder there is only one skin included with the download called BMV or something. It is the black brushed metal skin. In RR config, simply browse to the "skins" folder, and select the BMV folder, and it should work. Should you want different skins, just drop them into the skins folder. You may also need to edit the General.ini file in each skin to match the resolution you are using. By default they are 800x600. If you are using, say- 640x480 resolution, just change the displayed height from 800 to 640, and the displayed width from 600 to 480. then the skin should display properly.
