    A Loudness button ? Do you find this happens ?

    I have found I have a problem in that I need 2 settings.. 1. when on my own and have the volume up high.. and 2. when the wife and kids are in the car and the volume needs to be low.

    I found that when I had my wave slide on high to get good volume out of my system when the vol was on 1% it was still to high for listerning when the wifes in the car.. its like its running at 5% or something..

    So the answer I have come to is a loudness button, this works by altering the wave, line in and any other sliders you want on pressing this button.. it toggles between on /off, it also remembers the setting every time you start RR up. The loudness is set up by altering two lines which are in the menu.txt of the latest RAD skin i'm working on..

    &loudon=SETVOL;Wave;90||SETVOL;CD Player;90||SETVOL;Line In;90&
    &loudoff=SETVOL;Wave;30||SETVOL;CD Player;30||SETVOL;Line In;30&

    I use the wave for mp3's/video etc.. CD Player for my radio and Line In for the Xbox.. so thats why I included the three sliders, you can just change the name to yours if needed..

    well do you suffer from this ? do you think its worth including in the beta release coming up, or just keeping to myself ?

    Over the last week or so having to drive around with a lot of family members in the car I have the same problem.

    By myself its fine, as I have the volume at a decent level. However when I am with others, when I keep my wave volume to 100% ...... even the lowest volume setting isnt low enough. It becomes either off, or the next step is too loud.

    So yes I would be very interested in such a button. As there are times when it would be very helpful

    I suffer from the a simular problem. I always have my master and wave slider linked so the low end volume levels are quiet enough and the high end volumes are loud enough. The problem I have is that you can only increase the volume by a button as it is not possible to have one slider linked to two audio lines.

    If there was some kind of beta release I would hope it would include a single slider setting multipe audi lines.

    Here is the code I use

    B06,-1,465,100,65,"VOL-||VOL-;Wave","Volume-"
    B07,370,457,75,75,"VOL+||VOL+;Wave","Volume+"

    Or you could use a real headunit that will control the volume properly!

    an HU probably is the best way to be honest. Its what i use to control the global volume of the entire system and it cant get any easier than turning the nob on the HU. Although i do agree with the problem.

    Couldn't you sort of handle this by creating two separate winamp presets:

    B4,100,547,099,053,"PRESET;LOUDER;WINAMP","1"
    B5,200,547,099,053,"PRESET;SOFTER;WINAMP","2"

    Or am I missing something?

    But I agree, I have my ITX system sound piped through my Alpine's AUX-IN and I can control the master volume by IR remote that way.

    Same here... I bought a Pioneer headunit to power my speakers and my sub. It's soooo much easier to do this with a dedicated HU. They're designed for it, unlike a regular carputer

    Yeah thats what i've done and its working great, but I havent used the winamp as it would only lower the mp3s. not my radio. but its done and the rad skin will be release soon.

    same problem here. Had it happen today, was driving with my mom and I had the volume at 2% and it was still too loud.

    well on second thought it wasn't that loud. Atleast it drowned out her voice so I didn't hear, "slow down", "don't drive to close", "brake earlier", etc.

    I think its worth including in the next beta release.
