    WMP and Winamp

well if the main reason to use Winamp is for the vis WMP works just as good u just have to tweak it a bit... first go to tools> options> plugins> then select the vis that you use the most then go to properties... Next you change the res for full screen vis to whatever u use... for example some people use 840*480 change it to that and when WMP goes full screen your vis will be clear and look great not all crappy like they do when they are in the normal screen... An easy way to test what im telling you is to change it on your home computer to the res that you are currently using then go full screen and see what im talkin about ... Maybe later on down the road we might be able to switch over to this or use it because i love RR but i like WMP and dont say use Frodo because i have and RR the my fav... Just thought i might share this with u guys

i dont think the main reason is cuz of the visuals. But even so, wmp visuals suck no matter what res u pick, winamp vis are more powerfull, huge community support and tons of visuals to pick from, not to mention plugin support. I dont think i have one single plugin for wmp. WMP11 though is pretty cool and there are some stuff in there i would love to see in RR (mainly the library stuff), but whats funny is they didnt even touch the visuals at all, not one single one.

since winamp is only really used in RR for audio playback, visuals, tv plugin
what would anyone really gain in switching to wmp?

well they wouldnt really gain anything, but i just know visuals was one of the reasons for using it. But to me i think switching over to it would be nice if someone could use .net and integrate it into RR. Well i know on these boards many people prefer using winamp, but just the same i love my WMP i just thought i would throw that out there for anyone who does use WMP and would like to have nicer cleaner visuals. Oh and i love your front end liquid its my personal favorite

well i guess the definition of a nice visual is subjective. I like wmp too, really likeing the beta 11. But i love winamp too, i use both of them for different ****. wmp is better for watching videos than winamp, esp v11. Actually compareing winamp to wmp11beta, wmp at this point in time imo is superior in the UI where winamp is really starting to feel dated. But the features, plugin support, skins etc of winamp are a lot better than wmp.
Community support and open apps is something MS just dosent get yet.
