    winamp doesnt like me

Since I have been experimenting with visualization plugins I just recently got my visualzation to run smoth and nice but the area that it runs on was a bit off the center so it was ontop of some buttons. While using the "hide winamp" thing on and off to be able to move the visualization window inside RR skin (I guess because of this) Winamp have begin to load realy slow and sometimes like 20 seconds after loading of roadrunner. My cpu usage is probably very high using winamp also because moviess with media player classig is no problem. But switching back to mp3, the response time of RR is very slow. this is on a 3,2ghz 1gb ram, x800 videocard(256mb). I cant believe that little visualization thing can take up that much cpu usage.. or can it? It seems like when I use winamp outside of RR it runs much faster. why?

Winamp should work the same inside and outside RR... the CPU load depends on the plugin used..

Hmm... did a uninstall completely for the 5th time, now it loads fast (with the playlist and mixer turned of) but it doesnt shut of properly when closing RR. It stays there (shown in taskmanager) so I have to manually remove it every time and then all works nice. Winamp shuts itself off always when not using the visualzation (AVS) but when I use it winamp doesnt close properly... Installed latest version of millkdrop, played around with the settings and it works better, but not realy rock solid

Sounds like some input plugin or setting.. The only times I've seen winamp start slow or not always close were the times in which I set something to look for files or folders in a network drive or invalid paths.. even then, those are problems inherited from windows... Here is what you can check:

-Any path settings of any plugins installed (Input/OutPut/Vis/DSP)
-Path of your shortcut to Winamp
-Drive letters for CD drives, etc
    -Paths for the Media Library

If all of the above fails, try removing any plugins you don't use and test it again.. if you have such a fast machine, you could use winamp 5.xx although I have a Opteron 64x2 and still using good ol'e 2.95...

If the problem only happens when using VIS (of any kind), you may just need the right settings on those... but it could also be an issue with impropper video drivers or lack of propper ones such as AGP Bridge drivers, motherboard/chipset drivers, etc.. I know for instance on my old 2.4Ghz my computer ran like crap with anything video intensive, that was, until I installed the propper chipset drivers.
