    Slow browsing on large directories

I finally have RR working almost the way I want it. I have a couple small issues.

    1) Directory browsing is slow and painful for large directories. I use the arrow keys to go up/down, and the list movement will lag my keypresses on large directories, but on small ones it's not an issue. Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

    2) Is there a way to make a skin screen "time out". Example, I bring up the browser, but decided I want to keep listening to what is currently playing, is there an easy way to return to the player after X seconds without input?

    3) This one is picky: Does an easy way exsist to make different keys have different behaviors in different skins. Example:
I'm in the audio player, I press backspace.
    The browser comes up.
I browse down a directory, but decide I want to go up a directory, backspace should take me there, not load the browser again.
THEN, if I hit backspace in my top level directory, it will take me back to the player

Any thoughts or suggestions? Other than a few minor annoyances like these, I'm really liking RoadRunner. It's feature packed and easy to work with. Thanks.

EDIT: PS - I didn't mean to use the thumbs down icon, i thought that was a question mark! My thumbs are far from down. I enjoy this software!

    #1, I don't know.

#2 and #3 can be answered by reading
-ExecTBL.ini (first section - defining skin specific commands)
    -KeyTBL.ini (for defining key shortcuts)
    -Skin Commands.txt (IDL Timer event)

    Have fun with RR.

1-If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel you can configure it for scrolling, there are other scroll devices that can also be used with girder. Or you can use gestures or the skipto function (certain skins have it)

2 & 3 it's as b8bboi said, you can do it, but's its part of the customization process to get it the way YOU want it.

Thanks for the help guys. My setup right now is actually a griffin powermate with the turns bound to the up/down arrows. I'm using the powermate plugin with girder, but only to turn off the LED. The powermate software is what I'm using to translate the keypress events.

So, I guess my followup question is:
Is there some fundamental difference in the way RR recieves scroll wheel events as opposed to keypresses that would solve the lag? Guino, I love the software. You're in Lexington? I lived there for a while, it's good to know the carputers are close!

Ah, ExecTBL.ini, that's what I was missing for #2. Thanks!

There's a thread just with girder stuff if you haven't looked at it.. pretty sure there's a girder file for powermate in there.. anyway, you're much better off using just ONE program than two.. so it might just as well be the most powerful one (girder). Translating keys to RR is a bad idea when you can send commands directly to RR like girder can, girder sends the events with no lags, or at least it's what I've seen so far with the mouse wheel (check out the RRGML file too -- Girder stops working when RR is launched ).
