Red face Two quick questions (I hope)

Be gentle. I've been searching for fixes on my own with no luck.

    My setup:
    Shuttle FN45 board (w/S3 Standby)
    WinXP Professional w/SP2
    RoadRunner 06.03.06 Release
    iGuidance 2.1.1
    Justintime's Big Button Mod
    iGLaunch 3.5
    iGMod 2.0.1

Here are the issues I'm having:
    • CarPC loses BU-353 when resuming from standby
    • iGuidance needs to be opened 2 or 3 times before embedding properly

At the moment I only have two USB devices. A 7" Lilliput, which comes out of standby fine every time, and the BU-353, which doesn't. After searching around, it looks like devcon.exe is the fix I'm looking for. My question is...is there a way for me to put a hidden button in my external_gps.skin to run a batch file? I'd rather not use the launch.skin for it. Just something where I could touch the screen in a blank spot to rescan the USB devices, would be great.

As for the embedding iGuidance issue, I've looked at half a dozen skins in notepad and the skin editor without any luck. All the skins I've tried behave the same way. It could just be something weird with my setup. If the GPS came out of standby 100% of the time then I wouldn't really care about iGuidance not embedding. Once it's embedded it's there until I reboot or close RR. Anyone have any ideas?

you can make rr launch the batch file when resuming if you want.. check exectbl.ini and add a command on the onresume event.

For embedding, I'd suggest the GPS FAQ first, then try embedding something simple like notepad, if it works, its your gps app settings that should be changed.

    Man you're good.

My GPS receiver now works all the time...so far. After playing around some with devcon I made two batch files, one for standby and one for resume. Those disconnect and reconnect the GPS unit by ID perfectly. I added the .bat files to run from RR exectbl.ini without a problem. I couldn't figure out how to run devcon directly from the exectbl.ini though.

The iGuidance issue was definitely a user error. I didn't have my settings in iGLaunch correct. All it needed was a little longer pause to let iGuidance load all the way and now embeds every time.

    Thanks guino!

Same issue is still happening. My BU-353 doesn't work on resume, sometimes. The .bat file doesn't seem to run when the computer comes back from StandBy. If I manually run the .bat file I made, devcon will remove the device and add it again. After that it works fine again.

The bat file is resume.bat and it removes the BU-353 by ID then rescans for new plug and play devices. It's in C: so it's not a path issue. My ExecTBL.ini has "C:\resume.bat" set for the onresume event.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?
