    voices in rr

where are the files for the voices in road runner? the ones that say music, and video and whatnot as you change sections? i was thinking about trying to replace them with some more pleasing ones. thx in advance!

EDIT: also, i meant to ask, how can i change the font on the scrolling text in the BMV2 skin?

    Hi Red

RR uses the Microsoft Text to Speech engine, you can change voices and modify settings from the windows CONTROL PANEL,just select speech.

To change the font in BMV2 you can use the RR skin Editor,in the screen shot you can see the Font name selected, just change it to the font you prefer.

    I hope this helps.

If only it was that easy .....................
I'm using MapMonkey for SatNav....try getting it to say anything other than "MapMonkey". I gave up in the end and switched speech off in RRConfig, it was driving me .
You can of course change voices...but in most instances not what they say.

You can tell RR what to say by using the "SAY" Command like in this sample from my Radio.Skin file.
    B09,641,528,75,65,"TUNE||SAY;Enter Frequency","Tune"
or in your case "AUDIO||SAY;Mp3 Player"
now every time you push the Audio Button it will say "Mp3 Player"
Or better yet put the command in EXECTBL.ini like
    "AUDIO","LOAD;audio_player.skin;Starting the darn thing"

Go somewhere and find ATT Natural voices, you will be surprised. They sound awsome.

The voices itself don't do you any good. You need the speech engine. Once you have it, you can go to the speech option in windows and select it.

I am using this and cannot be happier:

    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/powervoice/43748-release-navivoice-v1-7-a.html#post393829

(of course some bugs are in place but who cares, it's free and easy. I tried many software including Dragon Natural Speaking and REaliseVoice and love this NaviVoice the best)
