Native "GPS Gas Price Finder" functionality in RoadRunner preview
- Available in the last RR official release (9-5-06) -
Please do not confuse with GPSGAS plugin written by: lostreception
IMPORTANT!
Per agreement with lostreception I had to rename the skin and some of the skin commands. Anybody who downloaded previous release please checks your skins.
I'm using it for a few days in my car and its working fine, decided to share with the community. Will welcome all suggestions, requests and comments.
GPS Gas takes your lon. and lat. from GPS Receiver and calculates to the nearest zip code based on that data (or you can input your zip code manually by clicking on “Postal Code label”). Using zip code it gets list of the gas stations with cheapest gas (Unleaded, Plus, Premium and Diesel) prices for that area from http://autos.msn.com/ website (internet connection required).
Current Functionality
1. Shows prices for Unleaded, Plus, Premium as Diesel (if available)
2. Displays surface distance to each gas station (GPS Receiver must be connected).
3. Use GPS Receiver or/and enter Zip code manually.
4. Display location of the gas station on the map (MapPoint only).
5. Can display up to 12 gas stations.
6. Will suport other countries if i'll find where (website) to get data.
7. A lot faster than using plugin. :)

If you are using MapPoint and call "GASPRICEFINDER" from any of the MapPoint skins GPS Gas data will automatically refresh then the Zip Code changes. To enable or disable auto refresh functionality enter “gpsgasautorefresh=true” or “gpsgasautorefresh=false” to the rr.ini
