Feature request: extra colour for labels

Can we add extra colour for labels , mouse over and mouse click.

ie

This will allow skinners to create their own icons in fonts and then use labels to show then and change them rather than the jpgs each time. And then the colour of the font can change when over or depressed.

This can be done with some work, but it's actually the purpose that I'm concerd with. If you want to do this in order to use it over buttons (that highlight/depress etc) it's one thing. If you want this to work outside of buttons, it's another thing. If you want it to work in both, it's even more work to do. I'd appreciate it if you elaborate on it.

The labels will be over buttons.

The idrive skin at the moment has white icons which change to orange when mouse is over or down. I want to be able to replace the icons with characters from a font I create, that way it will easy to change the whole color scheme.

There would be no need for it to work over labels which are not over buttons.
