    What is the proper way to lower the volume when NOT using Winamp (like listening to satellite radio fed into the computer via the line-in)? Right now, using:

    "IGPAUSE","!PRESET;IG3;WINAMP||SETVOL;WINAMP;5 0"
    "IGRESUME","PRESET;IG3;WINAMP"

    works great for when Winamp is running, but it does nothing for when listening to XM.

    I tried using MASTER instead of WINAMP...didn't make a difference.

    You would need to set a var to let RR know what is the actvie player

    Something like

    Code:
    "AUDIO","LOAD;Audio_Player.skin||SETVAR;ATVP;0"
    "RADIO","LOAD;Radio_Player.skin||SETVAR;ATVP;1"
    "XM","LOAD;XM.skin||SETVAR;ATVP;2"
    "SIRIUS","LOAD;SIRIUS.skin||SETVAR;ATVP;3"

    "IGPAUSE","BYVAR;ATVP;LOWERVOLAD<<<<XMMUTE<<SRMUTE"
    "IGRESUME","BYVAR;ATVP;NORMVOLAD<<<<XMMUTE<<SRMUTE"

    "LOWERVOLAD","!PRESET;IG3;WINAMP||SETVOL;WINAMP;50"
    "NORMVOLAD","PRESET;IG3;WINAMP"
    EDIT fixed space

    I just tried the exact code you supplied and nothing...meaning no change in volume for either Winamp or XM radio. Is the latest version of RR required to use this code? I don't have the latest installed right now. Will be updating tonight.

    Thanks!

    Also...is the space in "5 0" intentional? I entered it as:

    "LOWERVOLAD","!PRESET;IG3;WINAMP||SETVOL;WINAMP;50 " (no space)

    If it worked before it should work with this code now.

    Did you replace the other code you had with this one?

    And there should not be any spaces I fixed above.

    No that space is not meant to be there is should be 50 (fifty) with no space. The forum breaks appart long lines of text with spaces, and can be a real headache when copying and pasting from the forums. Using the CODE tag will show the text as it is meant to be displayed with no breaks in the text.

    Here is an example

    thequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydogthequuckbrownf oxjumpedoverthelazydogthequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverth elazydogthequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydog

    Wrapped in the CODE tag, the same exact line copied and pasted from above looks like this:

    Code:
    thequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydogthequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydogthequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydogthequuckbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydog

    Try this. Set the volume in IG to the lowest possible volume. (1 bar).

    Look about my post above yours. I had a problem with the auto switch feature triggering the IGPAUSE and IGRESUME commands.

    Lowering the IG Volume down low and keeping the WAVE line high apparently fixed the problem.

    If WINAMP is not changing, using the above commands, chances are the pauseonvoice feature is not being called.

    Ok, for you guys that use pause, this will pause the player only if it is playing to begin with and also mute the line in and aux at the same time.

    And it will not start the play if it was not playing to begin with.

    So if you got TVs, xm or any other stuff playing it will mute too.

    Code:
    /,2----------------------FIX for igauto pause---
    "IGPAUSE","SETVARBYCODE;CURRENTSTATUS;STATUS||EVAL;NOPAUSE;strcomp("$CURRENTSTATUS$";"PLAY")||BYVAR;NOPAUSE;<<PAUSE||BYIND;LINEMUTE;MUTE;Line in<<||BYIND;AUXMUTE;MUTE;Aux Volume<<"
    "IGRESUME","BYVAR;NOPAUSE;<<PLAY||BYIND;LINEMUTE;<<MUTE;Line in||BYIND;AUXMUTE;<<MUTE;Aux Volume"
    This should work for the lower winamp guys, will also mute the line in and aux at the same time.

    And no need for the active player thing

    Code:
    /,2----------------------FIX lower winamp vol---
    "IGPAUSE","!PRESET;IG3;WINAMP||SETVOL;WINAMP;20||BYIND;LINEMUTE;MUTE;Line in<<||BYIND;AUXMUTE;MUTE;Aux Volume<<"
    "IGRESUME","PRESET;IG3;WINAMP||BYIND;LINEMUTE;<<MUTE;Line in||BYIND;AUXMUTE;<<MUTE;Aux Volume"
    Make sure that the actual name in the Volume control panel is the same as in the code
    MUTE;Line in
    MUTE;Aux Volume

    EDIT; fix #1 Changed #2

    OK Chuck...thanks for your reply. After updating RR and DigitalFX to the latest versions and trying to recreate all the changes to support the lower volume, I finally got my original settings working. This was only after I set the pauseonvoice=true and setting the iGuidance to one less than 100% and Winamp vol to 100%. Then the nav directions caused the Winamp volume to be lowered. I then added your commands above and now XM is also muted!!

    Thank you!

    I tried the code you supplied later and that didn't work for me. Not sure why.

    Ok I fixed and changed the code in pot #357 for pause and lower volume.
    I tested in the truck today

    Code #1 Would mute lines and also the XM or Sirius but not un-mute XM or Sirius.
    Code #2 Make sure that the actual name in the Volume control panel is the same as in the code

    I am going to keep the latest code snippet off to the side, but not use it yet. I am using what you supplied first and it's working perfectly for now.
