Ok - gotta luv it, I have been out of the country for a week and all of this excitement in a great thread I am trying to digest and figure out :)
Chuck is your skin packaged up with all of these mods so I could see what you are doing per this post. This is of VERY MUCH interest to me the added approach you took....
Thanks for the great work here guys - this was a killer need and sounds awesome...

I haven't look at Chuck's skin stuff yet, but I am sure I need good clarification/explaination on line-by-line. I hope that one I understand, I can hopefully modified RR to have it full control on manual/auto switch.
Chuck - this is an interesting idea and will dig thru your skin - which I agree is usually some heavy stuff but killer learning grounds.....
As for this piece - how are you doing this, an added Application overlay to the playlist area and then when it goes active it just consumes that spot then disappears? Please let us know as that indeed is a neat concept...

Step by Step for Multiple auto switching GPS screens and off with MatrixPC's - Auto switch to Guidance screen for iG?
I only had to add a few lines of stuff in the ExecTBL.ini file to do all this. I already had my skins made up so I could use any player with GPS.
First thing you need to make is skins for all the skins you want to use with GPS. This is easy just copy your player you want to use and add an APPLICATION area over the play list or where ever.
/, A, x, y, w, h, color;RGB
Then name the skin something like AUDIO_GPS.skin or FS_GPS.skin
Next you need a way for Auto switch to open the skins with the load command and name that command in the ExecTBL.ini file
“AUDIOGPS”,”AUDIO||LOAD;AUDIO_GPS.skin;audio gps;C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe;iGuidance||SETVAR;ATVP;1”
“XMGPS”,”XM||LOAD;XM_GPS.skin;xm gps;C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe;iGuidance||SETVAR;ATVP;2”
“SIRIUSGPS”,”SIRIUS||LOAD;SIRIUS_GPS.skin;sirius gps;C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe;iGuidance||SETVAR;ATVP;3”
“RADIOGPS”,”RADIO||LOAD;RADIO_GPS.skin;fm gps;C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe;iGuidance||SETVAR;ATVP;4”
“GPSFS”,”LOAD;FS_GPS.skin;gps full screen;C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe;iGuidance”
The SETVAR;ATVP;x at the end of each line above is so Auto switch knows what player you are currently using.
You also need to add setvar;atvp;x to the end of all your other standard players command lines.
You will also have to add or rename your currant "GPS" command because Auto switch uses this command to activate gps screen.
Now the commands for the actual sawitching - the "GPS" command sent from Auto switch
This line will run a skin depending on the button setting you have selected.
This line will determine what player to put the gps screen in – set at the end of each player command line above
This is the button command for the different modes -OFF-GPS-GPS full screen-GPS
This is the button that needs to be added to your GPS skin or in any skin for settings.
this is the label for the the button and tell you what mode your in.
Now that is freaking interesting. RoadRunner is truely the MOST flexible, customize player of all time.
My only recommendation to the above is this
Instead of typing on every lines
You should use (if you setup GPSPATH and Name in RRConfig for Iguidance)
Yap, I am still in the days of setting MM in the RRConfig so the comport would work RR stuff.
Alright guys, so far, I use it over the weekend and all work as expected. However, during development, I found a BIG BUG that I could NOT replicate (as I forgot exactly what I did). The problem is that you STUCK in GPS screen (the one that auto switch to), because RR keep execute "GPS" command. I can not go to any screen. I have to kill RoadRunner and re-start it.
I try all posible combination I think I did, but I can't reproduce the bug. Basically I use RR's CLOSE command to close iG screen during auto switch to GPS (either by Voice or Guidance I forgot).
Let me know if any of you run into this problem. Base on the code, I don't see anything that can cause a bug that BIG. :rofl: aren't all programmers said that? :rofl:
Anyway, report all bugs so I can fix them before I send the code to guino by the end of the month for November offical release (if there is one) ;).
Lastest download can be found on post 54. Thanks 65coupei6 for hosting the file. RoadRunner_auto-iG-10-20B.zip is the file name of latest release. RoadRunner_auto-iG-10-19B.zip is the one without pause/resume music.
