Seek up & down seem to work fine & I can enter a frequency but for some reason when I click on saved stations they don't work.

Thanks to RRMobile, Wickerswammie and Guino, keep up good work.

As some of you may know I have modified the SiLabs source to be ran from a DLL, and have given it a Radiator compatible interface.

I've tested this within RoadRunner and it works fine.

However, I wanted to remove Radiator from the loop, so I tried (somewhat successfully) to integrate it into RR natively. The motivation for doing this is for faster tuning, scanning, etc.

I have a few problems with the RR integration, mostly from a lack of experience using VC to import DLL functions, but the basic functionality does work and I'm using it in my truck.

I've attached the Source for my DLL and the modified radiator.bas file from the roadrunner source.

Since I only have one of these devices, and it's now working to my needs I can only minorly support the code since the device is firmly behind my dash.

Some things that need to be worked out in my VB code:

    [1] Using the RDS functionality.
[2] Sometimes when starting the radio from hibernation the station select reads one station, while the radio is actually playing a different station.
[3] I was only able to get the forward/backward buttons to work from the radio skin.

Using the Radiator interface does not have problems 2 and 3.

I hope this minor contribution is useful to someone, as the contributions from the MP3Car.com forum have been very useful to me and I'd like to repay a part of that "debt".

    Thanks

I know its hard to make this carpc thing work cause the software isnt always userfriendly.
First of all its others who have done all the coding and I am just trying this out. You should also remember that its a beta version that has not been tested.

    This is what I did:
Copy the contents to your roadrunnerfolder after unzipping this:
    http://guino.home.insightbb.com/RoadRunner.zip

Unfortunately the dll supplied in that zip is the wrong one so you have to download a new one and unzip and copy over the first provided. It can be found here under silabs.zip:
    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...drunner-2.html

after that you have to change "RADIOMODE=7" in your rr.ini file

OK. Now it should work with most functions but not RDS but that is under construction as far as I can tell of the ongoing discussion on the forum thread:
    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...drunner-3.html

Good luck and I hope I didnt miss anything. If so, you could find all this information on the different threads about silabs.

I added support to the Stereo indicator and the RDSText display which was missing.
Also make sure you set RADIOMODE=7 (6 was already the native RadioShark Support)

Now, does anybody know who made this SilabsTest.zip (USBRadio.DLL) ??? -- I'd like to give proper credit to the user.
Ok, can someone break this down for the not so program savvy people like me?
Layman terms please (IE) copy this dll to this file, delete this dll and so on and so on?

You use the USBRadio.dll and the Silabs Radio Program.. Put the USBRadio.dll into your roadrunner folder..In RR.ini change Radiomode to 7 (default is 0, or whatever radio is selected)..Id just wait until CDR is done with the RDStext display, should be this week.. Cant wait for that...

Speaking of, how is the RDSText coming along?

Download this http://guino.home.insightbb.com/RoadRunner.zip, And replace the DLL from this file with the one Tipo82 just provided you, throw it all in the RoadRunner Folder, and you will be set, overwrite the other files...and remeber to change Radiomode to 7 in RR.ini..

Can someone tell me what the scale is on the signal strength indicator.
Im still trying to improve reception on my silabs unit and I dont know what a good value is (I can get around 40-50) according to the radio app that one of the coders here made. But its still got some static in it .
