ok i finally got iguidance and my gps receiver and everything works good but when i open up iguidance in roadrunner i cant switch back without closing out of iguidance causing me to lose the route when i restart. Now i figure this is something easy and i have been searching but i cant seem to figure it out. ive downloaded a few different things for RR that i thought would fix it but they havent. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot!!!
What skin are you using? You may want to check the .skin file to see if it is closing iguidance or loading the menu screen.
It should look something like this:
Obviously it should hace the proper coordinates and such. You can use rrskineditor to make it easier if you aren't familiar with the skin code.Code:B03,676,1,122,54,"LOAD;MENU.skin",
im using the Alpine skin but when i open up iguidance it covers up the close and exit buttons on the top. when i close iguidance it goes to the menu at the top but nothing else and i have to exit that to get back to the main menu. I'm not too sure what u mean by the .skin file but ill check it out. If you have any other ideas lemme know. Thanks

ok yeah i think thats my problem. all i did was go into RR config and have the gps point towards iguidance. then i just push on the gps button on the main menu or in the music the little gps button. how do you embed IG into RR. sorry ive searched and cant figure it out...
Check the FAQ section in the RR forum. If should be there.

-Set the External GPS path to your applications path
-Set the GPS Window Name to your GPS Window name
If your GPS application needs specific parameters, you should add a " " (including quotes) after the application's path. For Example (for External GPS Path setting):
C:\MyGPS\MyGPS.EXE" "Param1 -Param2 Param3
You can look at THIS FAQ to find the GPS Windown Name for your GPS application.
For example, for FreeDrive you should enter "FreeDrive" (no quotes on the GPS Window Name)
I must be a complete idiot because i cannot figure out how to do this. anyone care to break it down for me? where do i put in the window name? all i want to be able to do is switch back and fourth between roadrunner and IG without having to shutdown IG and loosing my route.
Setup GPS application to be use with RoadRunner. (iGuidance for example).
Look at RR.ini file
gpsmode=2
gpspath=C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe
gpsname=Iguidance
With the latest release of RoadRunner, you don't have to pass the "nowarning" parameter to suppress the warning window. Also,you have an option to run iGuidance in native mode or just embedded mode by setting
ignative=true/false in rr.ini. The advantage and disadvantage among the 2 is in the "iGuidance native in RoadRunner" thread. Look it up.
Now double check the skin file namely (external_gps.skin) to see what command does the Exit/Close/Return button is execute. You can use "CLOSE" command to close the screen without shutdown iG to return back to the main menu. In main menu or where ever, if you execute "GPS" command again, GPS screen will be reload.
All RoadRunner setting can be found in readme.txt.
All Roadrunner skin command, label, .... are in skin command.txt
