the car2PC doesent use the MD cable, so it cant display text...
Yaaay!!! My steering wheel controls will switch the sonds inside/outside of RR.
Now I will reread most of this thread to see how to customize it to my liking.
On the MAzda HU, is there anyway to have the mp3 tag displayed on the LCD of the CD changer?

Any of you guys having issues with this. Whenever car2pc is enabled, Roadrunner-external apps loses focus.
example.
When trying to run firefox inside roadrunner, with car2pc enabled, firefox flashes as if you are hitting the alt-tab key and cycling between RR and Firefox.
disable it , and all is good?...WTF
Kyle
I should mention that roadrunner does not minimize like in alt tab. The external app; firefox, calculator, whatever it may be , "hides" behind roadrunner until you touch the screen, then it comes back, the quickly disappears behind roadrunner again?
Im not, then again, Im using it and keeping the winamp plugin. Otherwise my LCD blinks. I wish it had better support. Im almost wanting the auxmod advanced...

Quick question, why is it with the plugin that comes with the car2pc adapter it works perfectly with winamp as a standalone.
According to the instructions, we are supposed to uninstall the winamp plugin and put
usecar2pc=true in the rr.ini
When I do that my LCD on my dash blinks. If I don't uninstall the winamp plugin, it doesnt blink, and I am still able to use most of the functionality of the car2pc adapter aside from a few features. Is it possible to fix this?
Those that use it know you can set playlists and scroll through them with your headunit.
When using winamp, you set it within its plugin. With RR, you set thse parameters in the Exectbl.ibi. This feature will not work, because of the conflitcs between the two plugins.
The other is the repeat/shuffle commands. They are assigned to 2 of my headunits buttons. Although shuffle works, but only for 1 putton press, the it turns off. My indicators for those do not work either. If I assign the commands to buttons in my skin, my indicators work, and they also stay on until I turn them off.
Anyone else have this issue? I think I'm using the latest car2pc.exe.

Anyone have a custom version of the car2pc.exe? what changes did you make?

Custommx3,
Have you tried the version from post #58 (I think) -- it's a .rar file. This version is different than the one included with rrr.
........
Now my question,
I have commands NT & PT working as expected. However FF 0, FF 1, FR 0, FR 1 don't. I used the commands (exactly) from post #4. I turned on debugging and saw the FF/FR commands being seen, but for some reason the associated RR command isn't be executed -- in fact the debug txt shows RR trying to execute FF 0 (and the such). Anyone have any idea why this is?
BTW: anyone know what buttons work given a car2pc and a 2003 accord?
Nasa
tried it.. although it works better, the time on the dash isnt the same as if it were using the winamp plugin.
The time syncs perfect w/ the winamp plugin.. with that verson of the car2PC.exe, the time no longer blinks, but the time shifts to zero between each number change.
like 01,00,02,00,03,00 ect...

Ok,
First off, just in case someone else out there is asdense as I am, I wanted to post what car2pc will do for you, using my 2003 accord as an example.
- Button
Works- AM/FM
NO- CDC
YES- Seek
YES- Repeat
YES- Random
YES- Tune
YES- Button 1
NO?- Button 2
NO?- Button 3
NO?- Button 4
NO?- Button 5
YES- Button 6
YES- Scan
YES- Volume Knob
NO- Steering Wheel Mode
NO- Steering Wheel Prev/Next
YES- Steering Wheel Volume
YES
To help decipher if a button will work for you -- check to see if the button has actions the will apply to the CD Changer. Although car2pc says it will give you access to your steering wheel controls -- that is only true if the controls will change something with a CD Changer. That's why Volume control on the steering wheel won't work. The Mode button (switches between AM/FM/CD/CD Changer/etc) will only tell you when you enter/exit CD Changer mode.
Ok, now that's out of the way. My question -- I have both a swi-x setup and car2pc installed in my computer (for the reasons just mentioned). The usb-uirt is from mp3car.com. It turns out that both the usb-uirt and the car2pc use the same chip.... I have installed drivers for each individual device, but now only 1 will work at a given time. And which one it is changes every reboot! Any ideas how to address this?
