Thread: How do I get the Car2PC adapter to work in RR?

Here's the reply I got when I asked about steering wheel control....

"We do not capture steering wheel buttons specificaly, we only get commands that stereo sends based on those.
And in case of Mode button you will get the event only when you're going _into_ CD mode or out of it. Not all the time"

So, how you're so lucky to have it work.... I'm not sure.

Menu sensitive Car2PC commands? (Digital FX 2.5/RR)

If I'm in main menu, I'd like HU buttons 1-6 to take me to frequently used screens; audio, phone, gps, radio, etc.

If I'm in audio screen, I'd like HU buttons 1-6 to load playlists. If I'm in radio screen, 6 HD radio presets. Phone screen, call 6 most frequently dialed numbers, etc.

I could help code if it looks possible, and with an intro to the bits I'd need to dig into.

I have just recieved the Car2PC adapter and grom_console reports back version 19 (I think.) Comms are confirmed through grom_console, but no action in RR. I have not installed plugins. I tried car2pc.exe which shipped with RR, as well as the one from post 58 (now post 60. -The one in the RR package now is newer right?)

I used ExecTBL from post 4. I did notice in grom_console commands are FF1, FF0, etc. ExecTBL in post 4 show FF 1, FF 0. But I tried both ways ...

Nada.

Here is my debug log. Do the SDK command lines descrbe my problem? (any chance there's a conflict with the speech command tool?)

Well it looks like there is no progress on this. I just got the car pc finally installed in the Mazdaspeed6. I need to get the drivers installed for the car2pc adapter. is there any word on this plugin that Jbors said he was going to make for RR and have the other mazda owners made any progress

Currently I have the entries seen below in the Exectbl.ini, which are working for "Next and Previous Track"

Is it possible to use the same buttons used for "Next track" and "Previous track" for "fast forward and rewind".

Example if possible what I would like is for the "Next track" button if pressed breifly to go to next track but if the "Next track" button is held down then for it to act as "fast forward". I would also like to do the same for the "Previous track" button but in this instance for rewind. What entries would have to be made to the Exectbl.ini to make this work if possible.

Note I currently have "Fast forward and "Rewind" working but they are assigned to buttons other than "Next track and "Previous track". My goal if possible it assign the four functions mentioned to 2 buttons rather than using 4 buttons for the four functions.

I didn't see anything in post 3 that pertains to question but post 4 did list entries that should be made in the Exectbl.ini which I did make.

So it looks like i am in the same boat as Custommx, if i don't install the winamp plugin the display is all murfed up. Also it seems that the Random and Repeat buttons though they work the settings don't seem to stick for some reason.... Wierd

Its been 4 months since my last response because my car2pc adapter never worked since i installed it in february because who ever built the thing bent a pin when they installed it. I finally got motivated to take apart my dash again and got it working...partially

Any word on that plugin?
