Thread: How do I get the Car2PC adapter to work in RR?

If the SC commands are both working then you probably don't need any files from me (In reference to an email I got a few days ago). However, you can simplify what you're doing with PD/ND. I went through this exact thing about 2-3 months ago. Check out the thread here.

Increment numerical valued variables

I'm not trying to step on Guino's toes. He definitely knows RR's capabilities and the skinning options infinitely better than I do. But using the code I came up with in the above thread you're exectbl.ini will look cleaner, and if it still doesn't work it'll be easier to trouble shoot.

EDIT: Note that in my code, my playlists were actually called 1.m3u, 2.m3u, etc. And I only used 6 of them. You can change the name of the playlist that gets loaded by modifying the LOADLIST command as follows LOADLIST;c:\playlists\playlist$playlistnum$.m3u.

Also, note that my playlists were stored in the c:\playlists folder. You may have to change that path to match your setup, or reference the RR variable which you may have set with RR Config.

You can also change the upper bound by changing the 6 in the ND command to a 12 for your case. If you're really ambitious you can replace the 12 with the variable (plcount) that you added in RR.ini.

Tensai brought out a very good point.. plus, the path needs to be specified with loadlist (as I told you in my previous post.. so try this:

Ok I got Tensai's working. Will try Guino's tomorrow to see if there a difference. Sorry I did'nt do it right the first time Guino. I'm a hardware kinda guy, the software portion alwaus kicks my ***. I sorta understand whats happening with Tenasai's commands, but not fully.

Is there an updated version of this still in the works?

It's currently functional in terms of being able to change songs/playlists without too much delay.

I'd really like to be able to get at least the playlist # to show up too. The best I've been able to do by modifying the code myself is to get the track # to display on my ('06 Accord) head unit and thats about it.

Just thought I'd check.

Hey guys, what is the latest commands for the car2pc adapter?
Look thru my ExectTBL file, I don't see I have the ND and PD command. Are those command for newer or older adapter. I have the older one and have to use the older exe file. Did have much time to look at the code to figure it out.

I am trying to get me car2pc adapter to work with the HU/Steer controls and I am having no luck.

But before I wory about the code, my problem is that the Car2PC.exe doesnt start while running RR.

If I try to manually start it, I get an error prompt that say" This application has failed to start because FTD2XX.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

It seems I might need to get this sorted out first? Any ideas where this error comes from?

That DLL comes with the drivers for the device if I recall correctly.. sounds like you haven't installed anything yet.. you should probably install/test it outside RR first, then try it in RR when you know it works.

Gotcha!! I was thinking I shouldn't install anything as RR would take care of it all. I will give that a shot and see if anything happens.

well, one of my problems is that i can not find my install disk. I do have a folder with all of fd** files in it.

But I'm not sure where they should...
