without flash, you'd have to do an extension plugin.. but that's not very simple whichever way you go about it.
just a quicky..
is it possible at all to have a text label (example- volume) only appear when a button is pressed (ie the volume up or down button)?
i have a slider which i use primarily for volume indication but thought it would be cool if i could make the text label appear while the volume is changing, and then disappear say 5 seconds after the button was pressed..
what would be even cooler would be a screen overlay with transparency which appears while volume is changing.. then fades aways.. id like that. i guess id have to do that in flash though. but i dont want flash in my roadrunner.
thanks,
tim.

not sure if any one is interested, but... i found exactly what i wanted....
the program is called 3RVX.. website is here
the volume indicator pops up when the volume is changed.. then fades away after a short delay. the best thing is it is totally skinnable and with .png transparency!! oh it also has an indicator for mute, and for those with cd/dvd drives, an eject indicator when the drive ejects!
