Hi,
Is it possible (or can it be programmed in) to have RR be able to toggle between two different winamp output plugins?
I know its possible to change output plugins 'on the fly' with winamp and have no problem with the audio. As I've tried it.
The reason I ask, is that you could setup 2 versions of out_ds.dll (or switch between out_ds and a GapKiller plugin) and have RR switch between them when you press the button, depending on if you are listening to normal music tracks or if you are listening to a single long piece of music recorded over many tracks (and you want to KILL the GAPS).
I was thinking of that something along the lines of a toggle button [Gapless ON/OFF] which would purely change between the two output plugins on the fly... simple as that.
The user setups which plugin is default and which is gapless and configures its particular setting in winamp in their own time. Then when they listen to a DJ set (spread over many tracks) they click the GAPKILL icon to ON.
Maybe gapless is even ON by default if the source becomes CD PLAYER.
Please let me know what you think guys..
Peace
][ce

Don't know your knowedge of Winamp, but I listen to MANY Dance/techno sets that are many tracks, without any additional plugins...
If you haven't already, you just need to make the sound buffers bigger and then they will disapear...
Options>plug-ins>output>Directsound output>configure>buffering tab
I use:
buffer length of like 3000-4000ms or 3-4secs
prebuffer like 9xx or so
buffer-ahead on track change is like 2000(2secs) and up...
The ONLY downside is if you chage the eq then you'll have a delay until it eats through the already buffered audio...

Blue, the method you describe is not good enough (nothing personal). I have tried it previously and the results are an improvement over the normal but still lacking to be honest.
You also need to tick "remove silence at start/end of track" (and set it to something like -15dB) from the OTHER tab for best (perfect) results.
(try ticking the box and setting to -15dB and relistening to your track transitions... I bet its seamsless.. not even a tiny jitter)
This has the problem of ruining normal music tracks where there should be silence at the start/end of the track.
I know that I can setup winamp for perfect gapless playback.. the only problem is that it then ruins listening to other music styles.
Hence Id like a little toggle to switch between the two![]()
Well, while were at it, I'd like to be able to turn on/off the cross fade between tracks too, when listening to normal tracks...![]()

There you go...see. If you could toggle between two output .dll's then you could just set each one up in Winamp the way you wanted.. then switch between the 2!![]()
