I downloaded the source code for USBRadio.dll radiator plugin for silabs reference fm (should be similar to ads, similar chipset), changed vendor/product id using what I got from my device (the same value as you specified), and successfully compiled it. No errors, but radio module doesn't work.

That module is known to work among silabs reference modules, but I guess there are more differences than some ID #s.

    okay again:
Ask the Silabs developers if they can move the vendor and product id from "hardcoded constant" to a file/registry (which is loaded at startup).

Get their work and change Vendor to 0x06e1 and Product ID to 0xa155 and start...

I can also have a quick look at the sources (VB6 and .NET only) if I got them...
I have a HQCT, Silabs and a ADSTech...
(sorry for no more help but HQCT is first)

The ADS-noobs wrote their own firm-crap (People always seem to have enough money and time!) for this µC.

    So what to do:
A comparison of the circuit should show that it is nearly the same (the circuit of the Silabs is accessible I think - I should have it on drive).
The µC, the Silabs4701 and the 3. chip is definitvely the same (and there are no more IC's on the PCB!)
    (after comparison+additional checks!!!
I would try to flash the Silabs firmware (also accessible) into the ADSTech

So the ADS and Silicon Labs units are usb direct to 'sound card' digital. But does anyone make a similar unit that uses audio line-level output? And by similar I mean a) that works with radiator, RR and similar programs and b) is in the 'dongle' form factor; powered by the USB port?

I have it, and the adapter to hook it up to my cars antenna and it seems to work well. I get RDS on some of the stations, but the problem is it is not supported by any other applications other then what it came with... and poeple have seem to have lost intrest in it. I use it with some AutoIT scripts, and it seems to work OK for me

I'd like to make it work but I had trouble with their software and their SDK is all in C++ which I can't work with so it fell to the bottom of the to do list. I'd like to check out your autoit scripts too.

Same here... I'm surprised its not supported in RR. The low cost and RDS make it a gem too bad no one has time for it.
