    Sirius Won't Restart After Standby

I'm running Roadrunner and my carputer is setup to go to standby when the car is turned off. So, here's the problem. When I'm listening to Sirius and turn the car off (puter goes to standby), about once in every five resumes Sirius won't come back on. Most of the time it works great and plays just like it should. When it doesn't come back on, all I have to do is switch RR to Music then switch it back to Sirius and it works fine. Anyone have any idea why every once and a while Sirius won't play on resume. Thanks.

this may happen more often with standby than hibernation either because RR starts sending commands to the box before it's ready to take them or because there's garbage in the buffers. The box seems to be a little busier than normal at the first few seconds. If you can make a HEX log with portmon (www.sysinternals.com) of the problem actually hapenning, I can try to debug it.

So I installed the Portmon program to get a HEX log but the Portman program won't let me go to standby for some reason. An error box pops up and tells me some modem device is preventing the machine from entering standby. I looked for some answers on the web, but only found some people with the same problem. Any suggestons?

I'm still having the same problem. I can't get my carputer to standby when portmon is running. So, I can't get a Hex log when the problem happens.
    Any suggestions?

I noticed this morning that the satellite receiver has a third wire coming from the power connector. This could be an always on power connection. I'm wondering if mine is connected to the ignition switch. If all this is true, it would explain why the receiver is not ready when the computer starts to connect to it. I will look at this tonight.

My power connection only has two wires. I have one connected to always on power from the battery, not the computer. The other is connected to ground.

    Glad you got yours fixed.

    Here's what I have:
    VIA EPIA MII12000 Mini-ITX Mainboard
    2.5" Hard Drive 40GB Hitachi 5400rpm
    512MB DDR PC3200 DIMM RAM
    ProGin USB GPS
    7" Lilliput
    SIR-ALP1 (with the USB interface)

I'm going to jack with the RR hibernate options. Can you explain what you did? Also, what did you do with the Xport3? Thanks.

My sir-alp1 is using the old serial interface. I suspect your usb might be the issue. I checked some of the boxes on xport. See the xport website - "The device list at the bottom work much like DevCon, and is for devices that have trouble with hibernation. Check the devices you wish to have disabled when hibernation starts, and enabled when windows resumes. Use with caution. Some devices may freeze XPort or fail to disable or enable."
