    Sirius Radio Cache

What happens if I rename the srcache.ini file?

Does RR rebuild it from over the air data from Sirius?

When there is a Sirius update, does the file update also?

RR will rebuild it every time it runs, however, it will only really update the list with new channels if you press the reload button in the Sirius screen. It takes a few minutes for it to pull up the station names and you may have to tune into some in order to obtain the title/genre for them a little faster.

    Ok, that works.

Is there something hard coded into the Sirius support that prevents channels above 184? Sirius has had a series of updates and I can not get any of the new upper channels.

I've tried everything else and can't seem to get anywhere.

I am using current RR and SIR-ALP1 with the USB board.

from the protocol specifications (and code in RR) the maximum channel number would be 223. So if it's not coming up, it's definitely because the receiver is not sending it. However, nothing would prevent you from editing the cache file with those stations you think you're missing and trying to tune into them. The worst that will happen is that it won't tune.

Any other SIR-ALP1 users out there get above channel 184?

I have it but I always only listen to the same 12 channels. So I haven't tried it. What I would suggest you do is go to mitchjs's site and download his test application and see if the channels show. If they do, I may have to do something in RR. If they don't then it's the tuner's fault.

Now looking at the channel lineup those channels seem to be meant for CANADA, and assuming you live in PA (according to profile) it would seem that you're definitely not setup for those channels. I would also assume the playboy channel is paid aside (like for XM) and that's why it wouldn't show.

I will try Mitchs app too.

I've been following this on www.siriusbackstage.com, and all channels are for US use. The ones that didn't have the Canadian channels, 182-193 (?) did have 198, Playboy.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I did.

I'll keep digging and waiting a little longer, it may just happen in the next update (whenever that is).

Thanks for all you help, and I hope I haven't been too much of a bother.

Ill try the test app when I get home, but the Canadian channels can be tuned in the US and visa versa as well. And playboy is free on Sirius, but you can request to not receive it.

I have been able to get a few channels, but I think they are meant for US receivers and are parallel stations of the Canadian stations.

    142 is CBC News Francais
    137 is CBC News English
    138 is Premiere+
93 is a station from Montreal with weird techno/dance music.
94 is a CBC Music Bilingual

Other than those, I cant seem to find any others. I even called sirius asking them for the equivalent numbers for the canadian stations, and they are all over 184 other than those I mentioned. And none of those will tune. I can manually edit the cache to get the above, but manually editing for 192 for example, I get nothing...

Sorry to revive the old thread, but I want my canadian stations!
