Need some help with a few RR problems

First I've tried RR version 1.00.00.10 (or something like that) and Girder works on it, but I tried the newer 2.0.0.24 and Girder does not want to work at all with it. Is the code different. Maybe I need to get a newer Girder GML file to work with the newer RR?

I can still get it to work with the older version, but not after coming out of standby. I can shut RR down and restart and Girder works, but it's a real hassle doing that everytime. I think the newer version of RR works with Girder on a fresh reboot only, but I can't remember for sure.

Second, when coming out of standby is there a way to make the volume reset to 1%? Or at least stay paused like before I shut it down?

Can RR be controlled (main functions) by the keyboard alone? I would like to ditch Girder and the IR transmitter from my steering wheel and use a converter to translate the variable resistance wire from the steering wheel into keyboard commands.

You have to edit the GML file to target RoadRunner.exe instead of RR.exe (there was a filename change a few versions ago).

You can use the ONRESUME event to set the volume to 1% just add this to ExecTBL.INI:
    "ONRESUME","SETVOL;Master;1"

You can control RR using any commands you want through the keyboard, just edit KeyTBL.INI and define what you want in there. Instructions are in there and it's pretty simple to set it up.

Thanks for the help, but the 1st 2 didn't work. I'll mess with the keyboard stuff later.

After editing the GML file and restarting Grider, there was no change. The old one worked, the new one didn't. Old one stopped working after resuming, just like before. I guess I didn't do it right. The target file part was near the top in the GML file. Is there more than one location?

Should I type in the line you provided at the very top of the ExecTBL.INI file?
I put it at the bottom after all the text writing.

EDIT: I moved it to the top, but no change.

Here's the top of the GML file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Girder><Group Name="Road Runner" Identifier="2" Enabled="TRUE"><Command Name="Up" Identifier="7" Enabled="TRUE"><StateInvert>FALSE</StateInvert><OSD>FALSE</OSD><Target_class>THUNDERRT6FORMDC</Target_class><Target_exe>RR.EXE</Target_exe><Submatch>FALSE</Submatch><Topmost>FALSE</Topmost><MatchBy>4</MatchBy><OneMatch>F

Where it says :><Target_exe>RR.EXE</ I changed it to RoadRunner.EXE

As I look through all that code I see the same RR.EXE appear again and again. Is there a main wording to change or do I have to go through the whole file and change dozens of wordings?

I can't get either mod to work.

Does it hurt to have both versions of RR installed? I can shut one version down and start the other and so far the old version is the only one that works with Girder and then only after a RR restart. This pretty much sucks.

I also changed master to wave as that is what RR is controlling. Neither way worked.

You have to edit EACH COMMAND in Girder on the keyboard tab you have to set the Target from RR.EXE to RoadRunner.exe -- this is NOT a quick change.

For Setvol, you need to look the audio line name in windows mixer or in RR's debug log to know what is the correct "name" you should use.

One thing with the new RR is the song playing text size is too large, only half of the text is seen which makes it impossible to read.

I enlarge all the text to 125% which is 120dpi. This makes things much easier to read on the small screen. It works well on the old RR, but the new RR seems to have an already enlarged font on the "song currently playing". This is with the Alpine skin. Would switching to a different font help or can I just reduce the size of the font for the "song currently playing"?

Is the newest version all that better? I'm thinking I should just keep running the old one or switch to a new front end all together.
