That will come in VERY handy for people with the Delorme Serial splitter that just INSISTS on telling you, in a balloon pop-up, that it is going to attempt to get a GPS lock!
This may have been discussed before but here it is.
When using RR it's nice to have some indications of status but after you debugged your system and your skin these can become annoying. I also notice that from a boot or Hibernate that the USB devices re/initialize smoother.
When using USB devices and various networking connections (wireless ,etc) the ballons and sound always come and go depending on the device status so if you want to trim XP some more then get TweakUI from Microsoft, install it and then in the pic below "uncheck ballon tips".
Then if you want to also disable sound, in the Control Panel of Sounds and Audio devices (the second pic) you can set it to none. I also set some of the other sound notications to none.
Also in TweakUI under the Explorer, General, Mouse and Internet tabs are some nice settings to trim XP down and help in Focus, video, mouse, etc. This is a cleaner way to test and address these without editing the registry file.
The version I'm using is 2.10.0.0
