Hi!

As i could not find a simple and free tool, 2 get the lyrics into my songs, i wrote my own.

Features:

- user definable search modules
this means you can define your own module if the 2 included modules are not enough. a module just returns the lyric from whatever source you want. the included modules search 2 different sites.

- simple
just enter the path to your mp3 collection and one click. the program will also tag subdirectories.

- stable
well, it crashed during test, but it happened after tagging 6000 files. I've tried zortams software and that thing crashes after 500 files...

- free of charge

PS:
installation: you need the audiogenie2.ocx (2 get it find my plugin in the plugin subforum or download directly from http://www.audiogenie.de), unpack the archive and run the exe.

do the lyrics show up in RR (in a lablel ) or does this just tag the files properly?

the program tags the files, not more not less.

If you want the lyrics showing up in a skin:
- use my skin or
- use my plugin or
- write one for yourself

Well I just downloaded it and tried it. With 60 test songs, it found only found lyrics for 2 songs.

If you can find where THIS PLUGIN gets it's lyrics, that would be amazing. The afore mentioned plugin gets the lyrics for just about any song you throw at it, but it will not write any tags. On another note this plugin is also VERY fast. By the time the first note plays of a song, the lyrics are already displayed.

I get errors every time I run this. It says run time error 70 permission denied and then a random code.

Make sure you have the .OCX registered (regsvr32 [path]\AudioGenie2.ocx).

I think you need to have your MP3s properly tagged for this to work. It looks like it's getting the lyrics for 1/3-1/2 of my files.

(On an unrelated note, I just blue screened my system with SMPseesaw, and when I rebooted, Firefox 2 restored both the windows I had open with all their tabs and saved what I had typed of this very post.)

Lyrics plugin (gen_lyrics) IS very fast, i think this is where the lyric database is located. http://www.lyricsfreak.com/
