wonder if freefone should be moved to the "no longer supported plugins" thread.

How do you have Freefone to work. I have LG VX9400 paired to my laptop I can see the cellphone "My Bluetooth Places\Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood" and I can see it in my cellphone. I can transfer pics, messages, etc. But when I open Freefone Standalone or within RR nothing happens other than the screens is open. What do I need to do, what settings do I need to have in the rr file, etc. OR my phone doesnt work with freefone
Any help is appreciated.
Happy new year
Not sure how much help I can be...
But try changing the ini file. There is a setting for the comport(s?) which Freefone will look for the bluetooth connection. Change it to correspond with the comport your bluetooth driver is using.
For example: If you're using Widcomm and Widcomm uses comport 7, change the comport setting for the ini file to 7, if it's not already set to 7.
Check out my GMC Savana worklog.
Remaining tasks to facilitate vanputer installation codename "Enterprise":
- Edit skin to liking.
- Get compatible phone for mobilephone.net.
- Facilitate HVAC control.
Yea I already tried that, my comport is 4 so I set the ini file to 4 and thought that would work but nothing happened thats when I thought maybe i am missing something or need to change something else.
If another app is already connected to the same comport that the bluetooth provides then FreeFone won't be able to connect to it.
Also the bluetooth connection should provide a virtual com1.
I got com=4 from Ports(COM&LPT) under Device Manager. So should I set it to 1 regardless. The only thing connected to my bluetooth is my cellphone. I mean I can see my cellphone when I look into Bluetooth Network. I was able to transfer messages+Pics between my laptop and cellphone its just I cant get the freefone to see my cell, etc
have you looked for a modem com port to your phone , this is the port i use to use before i changed my phone , mind you that was some time ago now.
modem com port to my phone??? Is that something i will need to buy and add to the phone&Laptop or is it a setting
Thanks
No, the Bluetooth software should create a virtual com1 port, if it doesn't then FreeFone can't connect.
