Yes, it very much could be that -- freefone only works with phones that have the full working set of GSM commands.. those are typically SonyEricson phones, and a SELECT number of Nokia phones. Most Windows mobile phones and Symbian phones I have seen do NOT support the full set of GSM commands. I have a brand f'in new Nokia E71 and it stinks as far as GSM commands are concerned. However the number of phones that work should be growing with newer phones.

Here is mine. Like I said, it lets me connect but I have other issues (can't dial out, can't see missed/recieved/placed calls, etc. and other problems). I have a Sumsung A-707. It didn't work in phone mode 3 (which is what it was set to originally) but I changed to phone mode 2 and it connects. Good luck.

Hey guino, is there a way to change the AT commands that freefone uses? (besides the 3 in the settings file). Wondering if there is a way to change the commands to match my Samsung phone since they are probably slightly different than the SonyEricson phones that work %100. I found a list of general AT commands that might work better for Samsungs (or might not) I don't know what AT commands were used to write the code to begin with. I found the commands by searching Hayes AT Commands. Another forum on Samsung phones pointed to this as the list that Samsung uses.

Thanks for the quick response and the setting.ini file. Well its identical with the exception of the comport. So the file is correct.

My phone is LG VX9400, so where does the LG brand falls. I also set the Debug=True. Attached is the file. I dont understand the stuff in the debug file whether its a good sign or not

    Thanks

Your Debug file shows there's definitely something wrong with the serial port over bluetooth -- you may have to configure your phone itself to connect that serial port to the phone/modem itself instead of just having a loose end that you'd connect an application (installed on the phone). Another option would be to try connecting using the Dial-Up Profile (DUN) instead of Serial port and then configure settings.ini with the COM port of the modem it will install (for my Nokia E71 that's the only way it does anything).

@chuckbyu: There's no way (and no point) to changing the AT commands ... those commands are STANDARD GSM commands.. either the phone supports those or it doesn't -- some phones support only SOME commands, but they're always int he same format.

    sound problems

    hello,
    I have nokia N95.
i have the Dynamode bluetooth usb adapter with the IVT corporation bluesoleil.

i connect the phone to the computer. i opened the RR and the PHONE plug..
i succeed to make a phone call from the computer but i can't hear nothing from the computer and the mike is not working.

i connect the phone via "DUN" "SPP" protocol and it is not working... what is the problem?

You need 2 BT connections. Your DUN connection is only getting the data info (ie. dialing numbers, making the call, hanging up, phonebook, etc.) but to get the audio through the computer you have to connect with an Audio gateway so the computer acts like a BT headset. Your Nokia should be able to make 2 connections. You go into the settings of the BT on the computer and connect to the phone with the Dun serial port AND an audio gateway. Good luck.

Not that I have read. If I'm wrong, someone please chime in and correct me but the previous 27 pages of this thread talks about getting a serial port connection and an audio gateway connection. Now you don't have to use bluetooth for both of those. Some use a usb cable that plugs into the phone for the serial connection and the bluetooth for the audio gateway. That is still 2 seperate connections to the computer. If you do a search for audio gateway, someone on here did a very nice write up on connecting it.

The only way to get audio and data all at once is through the HFP/HSP profiles... and even that is really just a combination of two other profiles, but those profiles do not support phonebooks directly anyway, so you're always likely to need more than one BT connection for a fully integrated solution (Phone Control+Audio+Phone Books).
